So is it a different Hopkins who wanted time out against A Echoles, J Calzaghe, R Jones and who couldnt continue against R Allen in their first fight? Thought not :patsch.
Hopkins team looked for loopholes out of the Dawson fight. The fact they did that makes me think Hopkins wont want to rematch Dawson and if its true that Hopkins is saying he wants Bute, then that looks like he is looking to not rematch Dawson and let everyone forget that a rematch is required.
If Hopkins rematches Dawson, fair play. But I dont think he will.

    Get over it :|

Hopkins is a veteran who has cemented his legacy, he dont need to fight on. He did no ***** **** like leave the fight game to go into a dance competition. Or leave the PED's and go into the Coke and weed.

The guy wants to fight an undefeated Bute, who has KO power and is top ranked SMW in the world, he steps in the ring with these guys.

Not trying to troll you guys, come on.

Listen, I think Bute should get the best possible opponent for his next fight ........ and the one after that and the one after that too.

I didn't know he and Hopkins both have contract obligations making a fight between them straight away impossible.

So I think Bute should get the best possible available opponent, probably what you guys are looking for too.

However, if he then is a free agent and if Hopkins is the best available opponent at that point (regardless of whether he has faced the S6 winner by then or not) .... then I think he should step up and take that fight, no ifs, no buts.

All in all, agreed. His fans, myself included, would be genuinely pissed at Interbox if they were clearly at fault in a failed attempt at putting him up against the best.

    So, I'll drink to that.

(although it's a bit early on this awesome Friday afternoon...)

They will fight two times. Hopkins will OF COURSE fight in Canada becaue BUTE is counting on a hometown decision. Hopkins will lose and then he will have to put on an Antonio Tarver like performance and prove himself again.

He could be leaving the game alot worse by not rematching Dawson after the first fight

Couldnt quote on Interbox, but Bute was very lucky not to have a stoppage loss against him against Andrade when they first fought

Tarver was a ****ing long time ago. Watch the vids. If you think Hopkins is able to perform like that again, I won't lose my time with anymore.

Why can't we all agree that Bute - Hopkins is a big name fight?

Why are you fanatical Bute fans somehow trying to discredit Hopkins attempts at making this fight? It's very obvious he'd be BY FAR the biggest name Bute has ever faced, and on top of it he's able and willing to go to Quebec, why not?!

Why doesn't this fight make sense?!

Because people want to see Bute in against the winner of the super 6 or a Kessler ...Not in against an aging veteran a division north of him .There are a ton of name fights for Bute ..It makes no sense for a Hopkins fight .
