I think a lot depends on what Dawson shows up. If he's on form, I just don't think he's the guy a 47 year old fighter - as special as Hopkins is - wants to be in the ring with.

Dawson via wide decision for me, with B-Hop finally looking his age.

hopkins is not going to go out without a fight thats all i know.chad when he is focused is a bad technical match up for hopkins, bigger, stronger and faster. hopkins cant school a technical fighter like dawson. hopkins has to make it ugly and keep dawson punch output down. hope to get him frustrated and over commit maybe land some counter rights maybe hook if he has the balls.i favor chad but im rooting for hopkins by hook or crook !!

of course he's at the end of the road, he's 47 years old! the unique thing about it is that he's going to win.

I am sensing strange vibes that sometimes hit my brain - no doubts it's a close fight or a non-close fight - in the second of chances, it's not going to be Hopkins doing a Pavlik number on dawson, it's the other way around, and if it is close, look at this - Dawson starts at full steam and gets waisted after winning 3 rounds or 4 rounds of the first 5, Hopkins lets all hell break loose, gets tagged once in a while but wins 3 or 4 rounds of the second half of the fight and this is very much like they fight, if this fight has no points deducted or knckdowns scored even those that you can't say if they were out of balance and accidentally touched the gloves on the canvas, there are only the championship rounds left and you know what I say? DRAW!!! Dawson doesn't get the title now but sooner or later he gets a vacant WBC title fight and wins it and most important, he doesn't lose and Bernard goes on to make another payday, flyin to Montreal again.

Strange behavior from Hopkins. Usually he would be the first in line when it comes to confrontations.

****, now we have these guys on threads. Strange? That is taken from which dictionary? When Bernard was throwing flags to the floor, putting hands in their face, smashing their noses in staredowns, you people criticized. Now, he is 47 for Chrissake, 47 years old and he's gonna argue with a kid. Was that **** with Pascal doing ****** stuff to pretend that Hopkins didn't have a good defense in front of Max not enough? Now, we gat a guy who is tellin him that he faked an injury in his face, calling him a ***** and sayin that he's keepin quiet cause he wants him ( Dawson) to get overconfident and this guy doesn't have a face to get a slap. What you gonna say to a guy like this? Man, Hopkins grabbed hard to boxing, to the Philly heritage, Bennie Briscoe, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Joe Frazier from the streets of Brotherly Love to the rings to get out of the joint... Now, he's gonna go back to prison because of Dawson? F*** Dawson! And you guys have your hero to do 90 days in prison, remember?

I respect Hopkins but why can’t he take what he dishes out ? Is it because he can’t intimidate Chad ? I find it convenient that his age is the reason for his silence ..

Chad's a ****ing ignoramus with a gay lisp. I wouldn't want to be stuck at a table arguing with that idiot either. Also, as I've already explained, Hopkins has no good reason to help bring in more HBO viewers or to help Chad's weak ass career along. He's done his part to help promote the live event. Now all he needs to do is show up and fight.

Wow you really think coming from where Hopkins came from he should lead by a better example ! So he has no good reason to bring in more viewers ? Is that really a good approach ? Hopkins just can’t intimidate Chad and he knows it ..

That's correct. The fight is not on PPV. It's on regular HBO, and HBO clearly doesn't give a **** about ratings, so why should Bernard when he gets paid the same either way? He's a certified ATG on his way out. He doesn't really need to market himself anymore, and he for damn sure doesn't need to help market Dawson's no fanbase havin' ass. Antonio Tarver wasn't intimidated either, and we all saw how that panned out. Hopkins doesn't need to intimidate anybody.

You're absolutely right, he knows Dawson isn't afraid of him...**** why would he be? Even in "best case scenario" Hopkins wins a close decision. It's not like he's physically intimidating, not a great puncher, he used to be a great "ugly fighter" but now...not so much. Dawson holds all of the cards here and I would think most rational people would get that.
