Going to keep asking this everytime he wins, until he loses. Does he have a long way to go or is he en route to being in the same level as them if he keeps winning and then retires or does he need a really big win to be on that level? If he's well below them, how does he compare to say DLH, Hopkins, etc. Basically is he a generational atg or just the defacto p4p 1 that can still be kicked out of that spot, assuming you don't have him as numero uno.
In my opinion achievement-vise yes,he just made history couple of hours ago,but when fighting is in the question I doubt it,maybe close to Manny's level but far from Mayweather
I don’t think he’ll ever be Manny or Floyds level. They had tons of fighters to choose from and after GGG Canelo hasn’t. I don’t think Plant or Smith compare to old Mosley, Cotto, Judah or Tim Bradley but it might just be me.
Canelo beats the crap out of Pacquiao at the same size. However, Pacquiao has the best achievements imo. Mayweather is another story.
He's on their heels. He's jumped divisions just like they did, has been a long reigning champion and continues to beat quality opponents winning belt after belt for years now. Canelo has certainly passed HOF status long ago and really is breaking into ATG status as well...maybe just needs a couple more significant wins to remove all doubt.
Historically? Close, Canelo has accomplished something special last night for fighters from Mexico. And just think, hes in his prime at his absolute peak. Theres more to add to his growing legacy, esb stay tuned.
Barrera's victories over Morales and Naseem Hamed are already greater than anything Canelo did. If Canelo beats Bertebiev and Charlo then he got a case.
It depends what youre criteria is. Is beating the prince really better than beating GGG in the 2nd fight?
Very far and tbh he's not to blame totally for this , he can fight anyone he wants right now and that still won't be enough given the shallow talent pool at 168 .
