Cotto looked good considering everything. First off, Mayorga came in better shape than for Mosely. He didn't gas after the 6th round, he was solid, and energetic all the way through the twelve round. The only difference from this Mayorga and vintage Mayorga was that he didn't throw a lot of punches, and didn't come forward consistently. Instead he was trying to bait and taunt Cotto in while exploding with combinations every once in a while. Maybe this was his strategy (he did say in an interview he was going to use more of a boxing stye...), maybe Cotto wasn't making it easy on him, hard to know.

On the other hand like a few people have mentioned, Cotto is not big enough for 154lbs. I read in a PR newspaper that although Cotto lost around 25lbs during training camp, his team kept a close eye on his weight because they didn't want him to get too light. So making 147 is not the problem (also Cotto has stated that he'll fight at either weight), it's just that Arum wants him to fight Margo next, and that fight can only be made at 154. I do think Cotto was a bit rusty, and probably a bit past it too, but I think he can still deliver good at the top level for the next few years.

Cotto needs to dump Manny Stewart like a churning/Cramping stomach full of watery diarrhea.

At this stage of his career he needs a trainer to tighten up his defense, so he doesn't take as mach punishment. Stewart can't help him with that.
I think this was one of the worst performances I've seen from Cotto.

Did I say I've watched him twice, or is that your attempt at mind reading?

Your response seems to imply you actually like what Stewart has done with Cotto? :rofl

Cotto got hit much too much by Mayorga.
He would be better served by Mayweather or some other defense focused trainer.

He looked strong and showed some good poise in there, but he did get hit alittle to much for my taste considering the wild wide punching fighter he was in there with.
