Rosado has a iron chin. If it wasn't for his chin Golovkin would have looked much more impressive. If Martinez took the same shots as Rosado did he would be sprawled out on the canvas. However, Martinez is obviously better defensively than Rosado.
He looked okay. Like Ward mentioned, he has some flaws he needs to work on. Most notably his defense. He also needs to take his time and not just come in thinking he won't get hurt by the other guy's punch. If he doesn't, he will get caught one day and KTFO.
not impressed. he was suppose to dominate rosado. rosado gave him problems. ggg needs to tighten up that defense or he will have problems against better opposition
The problem is, Ward and almost half of the board here, have almost never watched GGG fight prior to the Proska or Rosado fight. He's versatile enough, that if he meets a fighter who actually hurts him with shots and that he can't walk through, he has the ability to counter-punch effectively.
I think if you everyone is going to look at his performance objectively with normal expectations he did very well because he won all the rounds clearly. Rosado's plan was to box and not to trade which he often does in his past fights and Rosado did followed the plan. Golovkin's plan was to stalk, cut the ring to land his punches and he did that more than Rosado and with more effectiveness. In the last round it was not clear if Rosado was running away because he was hurt or that is the natural tendency when a boxer is bleeding heavily. Either way, I feel a KO was about to happen had the fight continue.
