I doubt it, he looked he ate the fiesta special platter from Del Taco right before coming into the ring.
He looked slow & off balance but that was due to him losing a lot of weight in a short amount of time & he was fighting at 147. Hunger was there & his fights are still good to watch. He'll look better at 140 or even 135. But still i was pretty impressed, hopefully he'll fight on the undercard of Cotto-Foreman or something.
For a guy that has been away for a few years, yeah he looked good. He's not even in real boxing shape and managed to win a UD against the younger fighter.
Surely at world level he has to be fighting @135 , that current crop of 140 lb'ers would eat the poor ******* alive .
No matter. I will still watch him. He's not as good as before but I think there's still a few good fights left for him.
I doubt Morales could fight effectively at 135, he obviously very much outgrew 130 years ago and at that time he wasn't looking great at 135 either, so I don't think his retirement and time off will do him any favors in being effective there. And 140 is crowded with a lot of top tier guys right now. I don't see Erik fitting into a world class level at either weight now.
