PAC UD.....Manny being overly busy while Floyd being overly cautious will see to it that PAC wins on sheer work rate. More competitive than this bout with Josh but a clear UD for Manny.

nothing agaisnt Pac....great great fighter....Floyd is just to smart to crafty in that ring and doesnt need his corner to see whats happening in the ring and doesnt need the corner break to change and adapt.

    Floyd UD.

Roach needs to be given just as much credit for the success of Pac...i honestly believe this...Roach does a hell of a job scheming the fighters and Pac is like a heat seeking missle once he is locked on all you have to do is shoot it.....Roach Pac is a great example of Trainer making fighter better than what he is do to prep work.

Floyd is trained but they dont scheme like this because like they say One fight is never the same as the other ....so they fight each fght and not the fighter because they will be different every time. This makes the fight instictive read and react instead of autonomy which can be timed, countered, and trapped.

Manny being busy wont matter because floyd will keep excellent spacing making pac have to lunge for good shots but not being abe to get off flurries and combos....space is why fighters numbers drop because he is not in range enough for them to throw....but Floyd has mastered potshotting and holding from these distances to keep the punches down while he is picking them apart from distances they cant land on.

    Pacman/clottey:
    - As soon as the fight started Clottey had his hands up and stayed in his defensive stance
-Clottey has a super-low punch output rate in most of his fights which forced Manny to throw alot of shots.
-When Clottey's nuts would drop on occasion he hit pacman pretty easily with the overhead right (like floyd likes to use)
-Pacman's offense is part of his defense as he throws punches to keep the opponent from attacking (works on fighters who aren't counterpunchers)

    Pacman/Cotto:
-If you look at the first round and a half (maybe 2 rounds) of the fight Cotto was controlling the fight with his BOXING and his jab. Manny didn't throw a whole lot of shots until Cotto though he felt the maximum power of pacman (wrong), got over confident and tried to overpower manny for a ko by trying to brawl with him
-Cotto switched his gameplan and fell into Manny's game of trying to stand there and brawl which lead to his lost

Now looking at these things we KNOW
-Floyd will not just sit there and hold his hands up and block tons of blows because he isn't built for it.
-We also know Floyd's defense is better than clotteys (even Roach agreed before he starting pumping up Manny)
-Floyd likes to use the right hand.
-Floyd has the height and reach advantage
-Floyd is faster than any of the ww manny has faced
-Floyd WILL NOT fall into manny's gameplan as he is NOT a brawler
    -Floyd is a good counterpuncher
-Floyd will BOX like cotto was doing for the few rounds he looked good
-Floyds problem will be workrate as he doesn't throw tons of punches (but at least more than clotey
-Manny can take a punch so low chance of KO from Floyd unless its a perfect punch so floyd will have to throw more shots and take more chances to win rounds.
-Manny wont get tired so don't plan on it
-Manny's shots can and will hurt so it's on Floyd to avoid the shots and control the pace of the fight
-Manny is better than most recent opponents of Floyd so he'll be in some danger ALL night which is NEVER good
-Floyd vs Mosley will really make the picture clearer as that bout will be ALOT more competitive since Mosley hates Floyd and actually THINKS he can win

IF this fight happens it'll be the best fight of both of their careers but it you can't say it'll be a straight blowout based on what we have seen. I'd say Floyd close UD or Floyd by splitD but it will be really tough.

"Given his toughness and size I wouldn't pick anyone at 154 or under to KO or TKO Clottey, and that includes Pac. Pac will win a decision though, and probably not a terribly close one."

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6084585#post6084585

"Clottey's too inactive to win a decision and has had only one stoppage in his past 11 fights. Do the math."

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5988412#post5988412

"Clottey is good, very good even, but people are shitting on this fight against Pac because the result is largely a foregone conclusion. No one can give any reasonable scenario for a Clottey win that doesn't involve a KO, and the dude has one KO in his last 10 fights.

Clottey doesn't have the workrate to beat Pac on points, and he tends to fade late and spend too much time shelled up eating punches that may not land flush, but still tend to impress the judges. Pac is fast enough to catch him and his movement is good enough to be in and out before Clottey reacts, because Clottey is not very fluid moving from offense to defense.

Basically there is very little interest in seeing Clottey fight Pac because his style doesn't match up well, and because Pac just destroyed the guy that gave Clottey his most recent loss. Yea, he's a top 5 welterweight right now, but Pac is a top 20 fighter of all time...it's pretty underwhelming. "

"I'm simply not that interested in it. Pac should be able to win this fight on points using the same strategy he used against DLH. Step in, unload a combo, slip, move to the side, step out. He can keep it up for 12 rounds, and Clottey tends to take his foot off the gas anyway. He's also not very good at mixing offense and defense. He's either in defensive more or in offensive mode. Pac will hit him while he's in defensive mode and be gone before he can retaliate.

He also isn't a noted strong puncher. His KO percentage is 57%, lower even than Mayweather's, and of his last 10 fights only one ended in a stoppage, and most of those fights weren't exaclty against top drawer competition. His only real advantage in this fight is that he's very durable, and very big. But that's not enough to get him a win against a faster, more mobile, more active, and harder punching opponent."

"And unfortunately Clottey doesn't have a high enough workrate to win on points either. So he loses a decision in this fight."

I can see Floyd winning a UD over PAC as well but after tonight I'm much more inclined to go with Manny by UD. I think the work rate and overall dynamics offensively would cause Floyd to be overly conservative allowing Manny to open up offensivley. Although I see more counters from Floyd...than what we saw with josh...I still see Manny outworking Floyd over 12 rounds.

I don't see any reason to change my mind. Clottey and Mayweathr are completly difrent boxers. Don't confuse Clottey's Turttle shell with Mayweather's Philly shell. While the Turttle shell dose a good job of keeping you from getting hit it dose not allow you to hit back. Williams win over Wright is a good example. So is Calghzhie over Jones. The Turttle shell relays on the other guy punching himself out. A boxer like Pacquiao has outsanding stanamia, and is not going to punch himself out.
The Philly shell is desinged for counter punches. The lead hand looks low to invite an atack. The low lead can spring out into a counter jab, or more commonly from the Phylly shell a stright/hook combo. It might tke Mayweather a few rounds to adjust to Pacquiao's speed. In tje end I see Mayweather timing Pacquiao using his reach to win a clear but maby thanks to the early rounds close decision or a late round t/ko.

Your right he could get outworked if he allows that sort of pace but since he has been at 147 have u ever seen him just let anyone dictate the pace? Now i know he aint faced no one like PAC but neither has PAC...so that kinda cancels that out.

To negate pressure and to slow a fight down you creat safe space to stay away from exchanging which Floyd will do. He will have the reach and height over PAC he can stand at great distance and still be effective wehre as PAC will have to subject himself to more danger than Floyd by having to close the gap or lunging in with shots which bioth are dangerous with Floyd.

Im telling you space is whats going to kill PAC...Floyd will not be in range for those combos and flurries....that is why punch stats drop significantly with Floyd....he keeps excellent space for those potshots followed by holds to negate the pace from speeding up and possibly get into an exchange...he will do it with Mosley and he will do it with PAC....it will take a Paul Williams type fighter to out work Floyd because they can do so from their range and just out work him.

Mosley nor Pac can do that which is why i pick Floyd. Floyd would lose to a fighter who is tall and long....Paul Williams or a very good 154 fighter will beat Floyd....147 down i just think Floyd uses evrything to his advantage EVERYTHING and i think it will take Ray Leonard, Hagler, Hearns...type bodies and skillsets to beat FLoyd....there is no one like that today at 147 and down...it will have to be a fighter at 154 or who can fight at 154 and 147....and have great skill.

floyd throws around 450 - 500 punches per fight , and fights two minutes a round , Manny last night throw over 1200 punches and fights for 3 minutes every round , the numbers stack in Manny's favour , and last night was so one sided against a top welter, if I was floyd I would be asking for blood samples during the fight as I wouldnt want Manny coming at me.

    hmm says . . .

I think Clottey would've done better against PBF instead of Pac cause with PBF's style, Clottey would at least had the chance to let his hands go. Not saying he would be Floyd but Pac just completely outgunned Clottey before he could set up or throw.... That defense didn't help either...
