As someone remarked that ,in the Byrd v Frazier thread ,Chris against Foreman would be a better match up ,how's it go ?
    1.Pre 1977 Foreman ?
    2 Post 1987 Foreman ?
    1is scheduled for 15 rounds
    2 scheduled for 12 .

Byrd gets crushed...and if Byrd was in that 7th round vs Foreman, instead of Young, George would have beheaded him. Byrd did not have Jimmy Young's chin, nor did he have his creative genius of defense.
    Foreman destroys Byrd.

That's a winnable fight for Byrd. Toss up for me.

Not that I'd expect him to get credit on this board as long as turning Ali era Heavyweights into myths instead of men is the standard operating procedure.

The problem with Bryd against George isn't that he didn't have the skill to frustrate and outpoint him at times, its that unlike Young he wouldn't be able to keep off the ropes for very long and I believe the pounding that would result, mostly blocked or not, would wear him down and drop him. George by ko.

I think he could get Foreman to punch himself out, but unlike Ali, I can't see him getting the stoppage. A Foreman decision win is a real possibility IMO

I'm pretty sure he outpoints old Foreman comfortably, and I'd give him a decent chance against the younger version too.

Ibeabuchi could take him out...and Wlad could bounce him off the canvas, yet prime Foreman would be beaten? Back to boxing 101 for you boys.

In normal humidity he gets beat .Young said he was out on his feet at one point and that all George had to do was sneeze and he would have gone down.

    Foreman TKO 5...

But in all honesty...Byrd could frustrate the hell out Foreman and steal a decision. Southpaw plus elite defense = something George never tackled. And Byrd at 6’2 210lb was about the same size as young.

I still think George catches him and finishes him like Ike

Ike and Wlad are both bigger stronger men than 70s Foreman. People think of Foreman as some sort of giant powerhouse because he was a monster in his day without realizing that this doesn't translate to later eras.

You make a good point. Do you give any sub 190lb man a shot against a Joshua or Lewis or Bowe?
