Im 20 years old, i fought in the chicago golden gloves last year and lost in the Semi Finals, afterwards i was diagnosed with testicular cancer. i have since fully recovered and im back in the gym
I've sparred and fought my friends years ago, and recently just got back into boxing after not doing it for about 3 years. I'm 22 and I've been at a boxing gym for a few months and am hoping to fight amateur ASAP. Personally I'd like to go a long way with it but I know everyone is going to tell me I'm too old.
Know that, when my best friend was boxing, few times I was in the corner as an assistant, **** it was awful:yep I could'nt do anything than scream and I did
Im Usually Only On Classic But Seen This Thread,i Fought Amateur Off And On For 4 Years Starting Very Late At 26 Im Naterally A Better Fist Fighter But After A Wile Became A Pretty Good Boxer But Better Swarmer With Excellent Body Punching.i Got Lucky In 2005 Winning Novice Golden Glove Title And Avenging A Loss To A Back Peddlin Linky Fellow.I TOOK A YEAR OFF DO TO A ELBOW INJURY DURRING GLOVES THEN MY WIFE HAD TWINS LOSING ONE. But Do To A Knee Injury Im Out Of It Again If I Make Another Run At The Open Class G.gl. Title It Will Prob. Be One Weight Higher At Light Heavy, but Now Im Getting Past My Prime At 30 So Its Kinda Doughtfull But I Still Study ,but Not Alot Of Time With A Bunch Of Kids And Helping With Family Farm.
I did try boxing when i was 15 years old and 30lbs lighter, and was actually brought up[ pretty fast, after 1month and a half my trainer wanted me to fight, but my dad got cold feet and he told me that i could only train and spar, but not fight. So i basically kept training and sparring with everyone, lighter people and a little heavier 2, but then my grades started slipping and it became more of an on and off thing for me. In the end i never fought an official match, but still train boxing once in a while just for the love of it, and being an olympic weight lifter in college keeps me in good shape... and well, thats my little boxing tragic story
lol sure, wheres your evidence, what club did you box out of? Whats your name? What titles did you win and at what weight? 39-1 but you never won an amateur title which you would have boasted in the original post if you record was genuine. Let me guess, you won the lottery too.... *****. Guys who bull **** like this should be banned from forums. I've Further researched your claim and confirmed with a good source no one who has boxed in any english championships or represented England has had a 39-0 record as an amateur.
I've been boxing in the gym for 6 years and been having some fights for the last 2. I'm very fast for my weight class (201 lbs) but unfortunately i have the most godawful glass chin known to man (a good lightweight can buzz me bad), which is the main reason i've only won 2 out of 6 so far. I should fight more in a safety-first way but i got that Shane Mosley thing going on where i can use my speed and athleticism to outbox guys, but sooner or later i just wanna get in there and hurt you. Well, i'm no future star, but i can't imagine myself ever not boxing, even if it's just in the gym, which is probably where i'll die.
**** thats a blast from the past. my original point when starting this thread was due to being flabergasted by the people on this site calling fighters such pleasentries as " cowards " or " duckers " even though they'd never been in a fight, let alone laced up some gloves. the problem has got worse rather than better since.
