Amateur boxer..boxing /training with dude who was traing camp in easten-european bests in old good time...
i've boxed on and off alot since 13. I am currently going to the gym but missed this whole week cuz of work schedule and ****ed up shoulder and arm
amateur. sparred with a lot of professionals, but dont have time to train hard enough to do take it any further even though i'd like to. d'oh...
currently. my gym has some pros. I spar with provincial and nationals champ only. the rest are either big 250lbs slobs... or tiny wirey kids who get banged around too easily. Not to sound cocky. I fight at 141... we only have two of each the following weight classes 141ers, 132ers, & 151ers lol The rest are 200+ lbers. save for one light heavy who drops from 191.
I've never boxed Amature or Pro, but I have had lessons.. I wrestled all through middle and high school, and was in Tae Kwon Do for 4yrs..
I have only trained with my cousins in mexico who are boxers and trained on my own at home. I watch everythiing on youtube and go by it. I used to box in backyard stuff which we tried to get pretty much as close to proffesional as we could and never lost a fight there. I was 130 lbs then and was fighting all the "badasses" in town who happened to be 200 lbs and 10 years older than me. It was cool because it got me alot of respect in high school but since i lived in a small town we had no boxing gyms nearby. Now that i moved to Texas there is alot of gyms in town and im going to get in a gym and go amateur then have a few pro fights. I have the body to be a boxer. I walk around 150 lbs and can probably get down to 140-135 and im 5'10" with a very hige reach. I have the same reach as my 6'3" friend. I forget exactly what it is but its more than Margarito and maybe more than Pavlik. My main advantages as i have been told is my power on my right hand but i usually just use the left. I love the jab. I will triple it all day if i have too. Its quick and powerful. I cant wait to get started.
I only did a few amateur fights in my early 20's. The thing with a thread like this is that a lot of people are not telling the truth. Personally, I do not care if someone has boxed or not, to me you are only as good as the last post you write.
I have never boxed outside of goofing around e back in high school and that is a long time ago. My girlfriends' son joined a gym recently and I'll probably follow in the winter to help stay in shape, maybe spar a bit. I'm looking forward to it.
Never been a boxer, but always loved the sport. I really became interested in the sport watching tuesday night fights and have followed it ever since.
I went to a few differant gym's & did some sparring in my younger days. Now I teach & spar with my older son.
