Just wondering. He often talks about how other fighters have to pay promoters and he doesn't. But then he has an advisor in Haymon and a co promoter in GBP. So how much do these guys get?
Some people forget that GBP has had a stake in Floyd's fights because Oscar loaned Floyd $10mil prior to the the Marquez bout so that he can pay the I.R.S off.
That was true then? I remember someone asking that at a post fight presser ages ago and De La Hoya looked really ****ed off. Edit: Yeah here it is [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc7LlV1drHU[/ame] At 17:25 lol
Cant see the video here from work, but its true. Oscar offered Floyd a loan to clear up his tax troubles, and in return GBP has a multi fight promotion deal for Floyd's fights starting with his return fight against Marquez. This is the reason Floyd no longer gives interviews or exclusives to Btalk. G. Leon called Floyd out on his financial issues and Floyd caught a hissy fit. The same Floyd who has no problem putting everyone else's financial and personal business on blast. He constantly talks about Pac's promotional deal with Arum. He put Shane Mosley financial business on blast during thier pre fight promotion by saying that Mosley is taking this fight because his wife took all his money.
Mayweathers front end and backend is guaranteed! Al Heymon creates like any good promoter his own cash. Arum is old school. He takes purse %'s and PPV %'s from his fighters. Don King and Al Heymon have been known to create ancillary market funds which lines their pockets. Yeah, Don did some bad things to his fighters but he's known to pay out what's designated on the contract! Now the stipulations of those payouts is where Don's fighters have had the issues. Heymon has never had this problem. Being a concert promoter 1st he understands the concept of creating cash through advertising & promotion with networks, businesses and media buyers / ad agencies. It's really complicated stuff that I don't have a through understanding of. But I'm definitely going to do more research on how these promoters make these huge payouts to fighters and artist and tend to profit 5 fold for themselves. Heymon hasn't really gone out of his way to let people know that Floyd made 50M + on his last fight. Than again when Al promoted the Commodores tour back in 77, did we know that the song Brick House made 3x's as much promotional money from TV, motion pictures and commercials than it did from 18M in sales when it was on the hit parade or the charts? Well it seems Al Heymon did?
Wow dude! How much of a negligent ***** do you have to be to owe the IRS 10M? I've heard of "NO FINACIAL SERVICES BACKGROUND", but goddam!
Glad to see someone with a sense of humor. I'm just ****ing with you. It would be interesting to know. I don't believe **** that Floyd says when he is bragging but he claims haymon takes care of him well so he may be breaking him off well. Unless haymon generates enough for himself
