    Ha ha!

Lets get it right shall we, the fact is Lacy was so badly taken apart by Joe that he will NEVER be the same again.
Taylor knows that after watching Lacy struggle against peter manfredo, so if talk now starts for Taylor to fight Joe excuse me wont you if I laugh out loud:rofl
Lacy is shot already, and Taylor STILL couldnt finish him.
Its just shows how desperate things are getting trying to find an american fighter that can be thrown in against calzaghe.
I have to say that the only fight that Joe should consider now is Hopkins again to shut up all those who actually thought Hopkins won the last fight:roll:
The fact is Dawson is a nobody and wont get jo motivated for the fight and lets face it dawson isnt even a big name.
As for Taylor, he would have to go up to light heavy to fight calzaghe becasue Joe will never be a super middle ever again, it would be torture for him to go back down and Taylor needs to prove more than just beating a fighter that Joe finished for good.
The fact is Hopkins makes the most sense, even though people on here were calling him washed up before the Pavlik fight, I do beleive that is the name that would bring a big audience out to see the fight and enough people would be interested to pay for the fight ppv
As ugly a fight as Hopkins made the last one, I think Joe knows himself that he could beat Hopkins again in any style and that would be a great send off for him to finish his great career.

But Lacy wasn't the next big thing.

Just because someone is billed as something doesn't mean thats what they are.

    Lacy was never that good.

Lacy is garbage at the elite level. its an established fact.

The only thing Calzaghe can claim is that he beat Lacy before the operation to his shoulder. But even then...

Actually, Calzaghe has planned to be cryogenically preserved at 36 years old for the next 15 years at which point he will be defrosted to fight a 45 year old Jermain Taylor.

I don't buy that, I think the loss to Calzaghe and the mental damage that did, combined with the serious injury he got later, both these things have effected Lacy's progress massively, IMO.
