So i hang a chain with a hook off the d shackle, and the other end of the chain hooks into my heavy bag chain?

Good idea...would I get such an item online?

I would think the place you got the other hanging stuff from would have what you need.

I bought a bag which came with chains, then a welder put up a beam for me and welded the d shackle.

Ill give a look in some hardware stores! :good

i bought a heavy duty spring to go inbetween the chain and the actual bracket/ ceiling hook. It makes my bag too low so in theory should help yours a big. From a hardware store you could probably get one as long as needed

How high is it in comparison to yourself, if the bottom is groin height i would leave it as it is.

Its set for nice flush uppercuts perhaps.

You will also be hitting the bottom end of he bag for hooks to body etc, if done in combos there will be no swinging bag, well i wouldnt expect so, be it heavy or light combinations.

So unless the bag is 5ft in length you still have pleny to punch at in general and more importantly punch above your head height when doing the last tens of rounds for example, well thats what i did.

Ma reasoning was endurance and the obvious, i may be fighting someone taller.

Many gyms have bags at all heighs n sizes, some thrashed, some tasty......you just adapt.

    Hope this helps :good
