And i think it's a pretty clear win for Barrera. The Split decision seems acceptable to me but 115-112 for Morales shows a serious lack of common sense. If anything it should have been for Barrera. Now i know the knockdown shouldn't have counted (becasue it clearly wasnt on a punch) but Barrera should have won that last round regardless. i didn't have it as wide as HBO (116-111...WTF?!?!) but i really thought that Barrera took most of the close rounds with his affective aggression and hard punching. Every time a round was up in the air, Barrera started ****ing Morales up. On top of all that, Morales just didn't SEEM like the winner. He really dipped in the later rounds. I thought MAB-JMM was close, but to me JMM seemed more dominant (especially down the stretch) and deserved the win (but not by the margins given). This is exactly the opposite of how MAB-Morales 1 was judged. They didn't give the win to the guy who fought better down the stretched and just appeared the winner overall. The fact that both of these decisions went AGAINST Barrera is a bummer. I have a really hard time believing anything other than 115-112, or 114-113 for Barrera against Morales. I'm sure this will cause Morales fans to be outraged (especially since i am inferring that Morales NEVER bested MAB) but if someone wants to set me straight, go right ahead. The way the fight was always described to me, i expected Morales to edge it out in the end, but instead it appeard the MAB just wanted it more in the Championship rounds.
I scored the first for Barerra, the second for Morales and the third for Barerra. Most of all, I'm glad I got to see them.
**** who won that fight is incredible. First time I saw it was when I bought the DVDs of fight 1 and 2 before the 3rd fight and im like wow this is what everybody said it was and then some ****ing insane best fight ive ever seen period.
I gave the first fight to Barrera as well, but thought that Morales had won the second fight. Both very close fights.
You gotta realize in boxing 3 judges see 3 different things. A punch might look landed to two judges but one judge sees it blocked which can make all the difference. Thats why if you notice. 2 judges usually always have a very similiar scoring while one judge has it scored slightly if not a few rounds different.
Thats what I am saying. When you watch a fight like that I aint even thinking. I am in a gleefull stupor. Just watching. Like a good movie. If somebody is talking I probably tune them out. That fight is messing with my mind and just makes me want to watch Morales. I like the way Morales could of out boxed barrera but slugged it out just b/c he didnt like him and that mexican macho ****. You can see morales boxing from the outside landing his little shots but as soon as barrera hits him with something hard..he is like **** that and goes after him immediately to retaliate.....BEST OF BOXING
So did I most seem to think Barrera lost the 2nd not me as I gave him 5 of the last 6 rounds and won by a point. The 3rd fight was the most clear win but even then its only by a 2-3 point margin. Great great fights the 1st and 3rd give me chills watching them rounds 5 and 11 wow :admin
Yeah it will **** with u alittle knowing the warrior Morales is and even though hes shot his opponet isnt world class so it could possibly be a even matchup that turns into a war. Honestly I expect Morales to do well for 4 rounds then start taking a beating and quit after 9 not saying hes a quiter cause thats not how I view things hes got alot of money and family and will know when enoughs enough.
Exactly, I love Barrera and dont like Morales but their first fight is my best fight of all time its kept in my "special" place in my room :yep
The Reason the 116-111 seemed ridiculous to me is that Lederman gave one round where morales landed DOUBLE Barrera's shots, to Barrera. The fact that HBO gave such a CLEAR Morales round to Barrera makes that score ridiculous. I never said Barrera raped Morales. I just thought it was a close fight that Barerra seemed to want more in the championship rounds. I would have been fine with a draw, but if you had to pick a winner, Barrera did more to earn the W. I can see a certain judge going Morales' way but on balance i would have expected the deciding score of 115-112 to go Barreras way, not to Morales. i DID think MAB lost to Marquez by a point or two. But the point is that in a fight where JMM finished stronger and SEEMED like the winner, he was awarded the victory. I'm all for that. But when MAB did the same thing against Morales, he wasn't awarded the victory. That's the only point i was trying to make with that comparison.
