from what I remember, Ward wasn't GG's mandatory or visa-verse, so 164 was understandable, the same thing could have been said for Alvarez wanting 155 against Golovkin if he hadn't started demanding his MW mandatory to go down to a ridiculous catchweight of 155

 

Its a double edged sword Canelo is not gonna just drop the title for GGG, there is really no difference between them fighting at 155 for a title or not a win is a win a loss is a loss.

Golovkin gets flack because he's made excuses for why he can't live up to his own words, he's had plenty of time to enforce his shot that is on him.
