You don't need to use head movements to counter, if you block a shot and immediately come back with something of your own, that's still a counter. Catch and shoot for me is more like "your turn, my turn" kinda fighting, Mikey does that too, but he mixes it up.

Another way he counters, (this is kinda iffy because not everyone will classify it that way) is he has good intuition of when the other guy will punch so he gets off first before the opponent can commit.

Again. You are posting hand picked facts.
How about you talk about my breakdown. Or quote me one of your previous analysis.
Everyone is just posting opinions on power and other physical attributes. No one is talking about the technical aspects.

Ooh. Thats actually a good point. I think this is what he loves to do most, don't you?
He does it off of his herky jerky feinting movement.

Yeah, it's definitely his favorite tactic. He's just good at figuring out a guy's rhythm and disrupting it.

thats the floyd syndrome. floyd got beat in my eyes, and the eyes of many, in his 3rd weight class, but floyd had 75% of blacks constantly pushing the hype machine so it was seen as a challenge he eventually overcame with his slickness. on the other hand, 75% of the mexicans are too busy defending a drug cheat to bother hyping the real thing. im not race baiting, im calling it like it is. mikey has yet to sniff a castillo and he has gone up 1 more division than floyd had when he got that work. mikey is still trying to find a challenge.

well then how about you counter with your own hand picked facts instead of relying on opinion to make your argument. the technical facts are that nobody has yet to figure out the most basic of fighters, so much so, that he makes them look like they dont belong in the same ring with him.

Brilliantly bases is off of his own rhythm as well.
But i wonder if thats the reason why he stays on the line so much. He does move but he never changes angles after defending or punching.
And i wonder if he doesn't move his head that much because he likes to catch and shoot.

It's funny to me, because the same people who love Floyd, lambast Loma on the Salido fight. But if you look at Castillo I and Salido fights, there's quite a few parallels.

FACT!When he backed up he would either throw that explosive jab or a left hook which he used more to create distance than to score with.(as the idea was not to land per say but to get Lipinets off of him)
FACT!When he jabbed he would over commit too often and Lipinets had plenty of success avoiding it. (This was only when Lipinets was pushing Mikey back)
FACT!Mikey never threw the right hand when moving back.
FACT!Mikey also used little head movement and chose to hold a tight high guard instead.

FACT!Mikey also fainted a lot but it was all in a predictable rhythm. And he didn't use the faints to set up any of his punches. What Mikey did was explode with the jab, follow up with a right hand and if the right hand missed, he would follow it with a left hook. That left hook tended to land because Lipinets would bend down to his right and stay on the line instead of moving.
FACT!And Mikey himself stayed on the line the whole night. This is why Lipinets had so much success. (And Mikey's lack of head movement)
FACT!Mikey's jab was vert inaccurate that night because he over committed with it. It was always full force.
Now can we talk about actual boxing or are going to stick to hand picked statistics?
Mikey is just better than most. But the guys he has faced were not the elite. Mikey has a weak resume.
And Lipinets proved that he belonged. He might have been a step behind but he kept up and had plenty of moments. Enough to win rounds and enough to do visible damage to Mikey.(Both guys busted each others faces up)

Probably just never needed to, he does move off of his left hook pretty often though.

i dont think you know what overcommitting means. if he gets his jab countered because he overextends or leaves himself open while throwing, then he is overcommitting, if he misses, gues what, lipinets practices defence also.

    FACT!
Mikey never threw the right hand when moving back.

i will post a video proving this bullcrap, if you agree to admit you were just talkin out the ass here.

FACT!Mikey also used little head movement and chose to hold a tight high guard instead.

    same as above

MG has a semi decent shot, the size difference, beautiful fundamentals, durable. I personally think VL is better off at 130 but he's too much of a stud to be a cherry picking ducker.. & wants that legend status! But we've seen what moving up has done to him physically, he got KD'd a tore his shoulder! Not good! Now I think the former may not have happened if it wasn't for the latter (losing focus, distracted, adapting your game to it) but still... A year ago the two fights that I wanted for him were Rigo & JL! He got them & styled them out!! So here on out is gravy for me... He's proved his worth! Longer it gets drawn out the more I think MG will struggle with getting down to 135 too, so that would benefit Loma!! Garcia is podgy & I think his only trajectory is up through the weight's whereas Loma can be a comfortable career SFW IMO.

If Loma has no lasting effects from surgery & he is able to maintain form I'd favour him. It has to be at LW & no higher though. He's too small.
