So if Ward won the fight definitively, why did...

What was your score drenlou? Would you agree that Kovalev was a bit hard done by?

I think the best outcome is to have a rematch next year with some European judges, that way we will know for certain who is #1 at LHW. I give Ward an excellent chance for the rematch btw.

Maybe boxing should employ the methods of the Roman Empire and ask for thumbs-up and thumbs-down from those watching live? I prefer to leave the judging of fights to the judges rather than paying customers. The point being, a booing crowd is virtually irrelevant to the legitimacy of a decision. It's either right or wrong and, last night especially, it followed a fight which, by its very nature, invited a array of interpretations.

I recall after the first Froch vs Groves fight, the fans were booing the stoppage and cheered when Groves claimed he was robbed of a win. He wasn't. He was robbed of being very badly hurt. 'Those in attendance' as Buffer would say, are not best placed to pass verdict, nor the best qualified.

Why would anyone waste money protecting Ward's record?

The crowd booed because it was a blatant robbery. Not even competitive. Stuff like that is BS.

The crowd may have been cheering Ward on, but to give him the decision was just so bogus the crowd couldnt cheer that.

I agree with this. You have to give Ward the benefit of every doubt to score it in his favour - you almost have to be looking for a reason to give him the decision

Yep which is also interesting you think Ward won this fight? It wasn't even close because a fight where 4 rounds are the difference (if you believe it was 4) or even 3 does not mean a close fight .Thats why we have rounds and its not a team sport, all the rounds are significant in totaling up who won. Lewis and holy was a competitive fight yet anyone who really knows boxing can see it was a clear Lewis win.

I gave 3 rounds no more than 4 to Ward so calling a close fight isn't even reality here for me.

One of the reasons MMA has become so popular is that even when the best guys fight like McGregor the judges nearly always get the scores right infact it's easy to score from home usually.
Boxing on the other hand is corrupt and always has been,oh for sure for most fights involving the majority the fights are judged fairly but we all knew that Ward would be protected by the Judges, hell even the ref was laughing along with him,it's the same with Canelo as we seen by the draw by a judge against Mayweather and him having rounds against Khan when he was totally out boxed,it stinks to high heaven and the awful thing is nobody can do anything about it as the corruption runs so deep that even at this years Olympics in amateur fights there was so many judges found to be corrupt so if it starts there what can be done about it?
Respect to Ward for coming back but the crowd knew and it seems most boxing writers have Kovalev as the victor in a close fight.
