So in this day and age after a loss you are shot and supposed to retire?

this happens all the time nowadays.

mosley loses to cotto - he needs to retire, he is shot

Margo to Mosley - he has nothing left, he is shot

Cotto to Margo - he took a beating he needs to retire

Hatton after Mayweather - he is finished

Hatton after pac - its definitely over now

Fighters win some lose some, deal with it!

I agree dude. Losing is part of sport and the most lessons learned can be from the experience of defeat itself. Also styles make fights so inevitably even the greatest of fighters will lose. Unfortunately these days promoters plan out certain fighters careers to protect them so much that losses are basically unacceptable and thats BS.. robs the fans of great fights also.

    I agree..
Styles defo determine who wins/lose ect..
(But in some cases age & battle years do have something to do with aswell)

It depends how your career has gone if you have had some bad knockdowns and are not as defensive in your style then you may not have much left in the locker than someone who has had 40 fights and still have there looks.

Hatton loses to two prime P4P #1's and all of a sudden he should retire :patsch

in the case of hatton yes, after 2 big ko's and looking a shadow of himself he should retire.

every fighter can have an off day, but when it is repeated again then i think its a fair call to make that a fighter is shot.

Floyd and Pac would ko Hatton at any point in his career, the reason he looked so good against the guys he did was simply because they were no floyd mayweather or manny pacquiao.

He also doesn't possess the skills nor mind to beat the names worth elevating his current status.

Perhaps, but he was badly hurt on several occasions against Luczano...

i read something by odlh after pac defeat he was devistated and embarassed and locked himself away. compare that to hattons pool party, guesting at the footy and generally acting like hes the champ! i think he's already retired.

Thats because Lazcano is a half decent boxer, he has a good left hook.
