after a successful move to lightweight against someone who somewhat fights like hatton, is a pac win over hatton at 140 more realistic now?

I won't jump out and down yet. Hatton is hella strong, but I give Pac a chance.

It's more realistic than I thought it was a few months ago. Pac looks better carrying the weight than I thought he would, and Hatton looked worse than I thought he would in his last fight.

I'd still like to see him in a unification fight vs the winner of Campbell-Guzman to see if he can establish himself as the man at lightweight first, then go after Hatton. If he could pull off both of those wins, that would give him a hell of a boost to an already good resume.

hatton should remain the favorite. hatton is at a higher weight and is a different beast compared to diaz.

No. Let's see how he does at 135 for a few fights, then against a decent fighter at 140.

After Pacs showing it is certainly "a little more realistic". Simply because he showed that he fits well at the weight. But lets not get carried away, cause Hatton is a much different fighter from Diaz. Diaz is very slow and plodding whereas Hatton is a swarmer that is quick to come in and uses his physical strengths to his advatage. Hatton is much stronger, quicker, and just better all around than Diaz so I still favor Hatton. But its good to see that Pacman fits well at 135

No, Pac kicked the **** out of a guy who everyone thought he was going to kick the **** out of. Hatton is still much bigger and better than a guy like Diaz so Hatton should still be the favorite to kick the **** out of Pac.

It's been realistic to some Pac fans, including myself, for sometime now, but after seeing Pacquiao perform so well at 135, it's a lot more realistic now to a lot of people.. A lot of people thought a fight between Pac vs Hatton was just pure nonsense back then.. But I do think Pac should take a few fights at 135 first before fighting Hatton.. This is how I would like for it to end up going..

    01. Pacquiao vs Campbell/Guzman in a unification bout
    02. Pacquiao vs JMM in early 2009 and possibly for The Ring title
    03. Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton

But right now it seems to be unclear on who Pacquiao's next opponent is gonna' be seeing as how Campbell/Guzman, JMM/Casa, & Hatton/Malignaggi will be taking place this fall..

This all depends if the ref allows hatton to wrestle

The ref would definitely be a big factor in this fight..

Its looking more and more plausible. He's looking good at 135 so far. After a couple of other fights at lightweight, we'll see.

While I wouldn't bet the house on Manny winning, I could definitely see myself placing a couple of thousand bucks on him.

No, it is not more realistic now. You and others seem to forget that Diaz is and was nothing special. He was a guy who happened to hold a title in today's alphabet world. He also went life and death with a former Pac conquerer in Erik Morales, who is older, and was extremely shop worn.

Now don't get me wrong, I give credit to PacMan, but in all honesty, his reputation boils down to the success he had against feasting on older and on-the-decline warriors (Morales and Barrera). I look at it in this way. He is 2-1 against a shop worn Morales. He is 2-0 against Barrera. Although I certainly thought the first fight was a fluke, and even though Barrera lost the rematch, it proved a point. A bigger, supposedly more technically skilled PacMan couldn't replicate what he did to Barrera the first time, which leads to more questions than answers. He is also 1-0-1 with another older warrior. However, this older warrior, JMM, has his number. I know all the Pac hacks will come in here and say, "Oh, JMM was on the canvass four times..." Well, here is a news flash, a fight isn't won on knockdowns alone. It's a 12 round fight, not a knockdown contest, that is unless he stays down. His one lone victory against an older JMM does him no favors in a lot of people's eyes since many fans had it a draw or a Marquez win. Again, the Pac hacks will say the judges decision is what matters most. I say, to you it may, but this is boxing, where we have all seen decisions go to the wrong fighter. There should have been an immediate rematch, but PacMan ran away from. That too me irked me since it seemed as if PacMan knew he got a gift decision and didn't want to take another chance.

Anyhow, even though I like PacMan, I say Hatton will be too big and strong for the PacMan. If Hatton could take Tyzsu's right hand, I don't see how PacMan's left will do more damage. Besides, Hatton's mauling wrestling style will make it awful difficult for PacMan to really beat him. The only advice I have for PacMan is for him not to fight Hatton in his hometown because the ref will let Hatton grapple and headbutt his way to victory. If they fight in the states, I still have Hatton over PacMan due to his physical, swarming style. I honestly don't think PacMan can fight going backwards. Hatton by TKO in 8.

Hatton will be tough for sure but I'm still sticking with my pick, Pacquiao by TKO/KO. Just too fast and strong in my opinion, I know Hatton will be bigger but Pacquiao won't be tiny either.
