He just beat the 108 undisputed Ring Magazine champion. That pretty close to unifiying. Aldo 3 lbs at 105 means 3% of your body. Thats like a 160lb fighter going up to 165. The thing is that he was a small 105 to begin with. He is a tiny guy. When he was in the ring announcing, there were two kids behind him that were like 11 year olds and they looked as big as him.

Calderon left three strong titlists back at minimumweight. Why?

The WBC, WBA and IBF are all strong champs.

intangiables like power chin speed dont matter as long as you win against good ops fight well and look damn good doing it your pound 4 pound material

i dont know though becuase as good as he is he hasnt fought anyone of late in minimum where as joe calzaghe fought ex champions and unified the division for one fight lol same with pretty boy so hard to argue.

i hope he clear out the division and then move up one more and show the world that straws/minimums mean business

5 foot of quick excellent efficiency:rasta. i feel that as well at the lower wieghts 2 pounds is huge eating a sandwihich can throw you a division out...so only the best and fitest can survive and reach the wieght.

also eagle kyowa is the main champ at straw so maybe we could see a unification at one point... i think it could bring alot of attention to the wieght

Just because he was the ring champ at 108 didn't make him the best or unified. He didn't beat any of the WBC/WBA/IBF Champs. Calderon also didnt fight the WBC/WBA/IBF Champs at 105

Yes going from 105-108 is the equivilent of going from 126-130 - but its still only 1 division and 3lbs is really f*** all.

Being a 2 weight WBO Champ is not that impressive especially at weights were there are next to no fighters fighting at.

Calderon is not P4P top10 material by a long shot. He looks good but hes not seeking out the best in his division by a long shot.

same could be said for floyd, he didn't unify any division he also only held one title in each weight division, he also didn't fight the best in all divisions.

yeah,. another one these guys. Apparently titles are worthless when its convenient, but when someone else wins a real championship then the titles are priceless.

    CAZARES WAS THE CHAMPION

Floyd cleaned out 130lbs, he beat the best at 135, he didnt fight the best at 140 (he is now), he fought the top2 at 147 and the best at 154

Calderon has won 2 WBO belts - completely different

Beating the top guys is what counts. Calderon has not done that at 105 or 108.

Why was Cazares the Champion? He was the WBO champion, he never unified and the guy who had the belt before him won the vacant belt.

NO UNIFACTION/NO TOP FIGHTERS SQUARING OFF - NO CHAMPION AT 108

Seriously it seems people are desperate for Rican/Mexican/American stars. What has Calderon done to prove hes better than Condes, Rachman, Eagle at 105?????

Undisputed based on what? I'm sure Solis disputes his undisputedness. Theres been no unification at 108

Floyd is one of my favorite fighters, but also he has had a controversial decision against the first castillo fight, and to say he fought the best top 2 at 147 its a false statement and at 154 some opponents could give him trouble...u making it seem like calderon ran away from the 105 and the wbo belt is worthless, remember he left the division because of the lack of opponents including other belt holders didnt want to fight him... plenty of articles about that, making calderon to move up to 108... and u will be surprise if i give u a list of former and current wbo champs...
