What do you think? I know a lot of people here picked him to destroy Stiverne. I backed Stiverne from the beginning against this sad sack of ****. So is Chris finished now? This has to be the end of the line.
He is finished on the opinion of ever being a championship caliber fighter. He is simply too undisciplined to physically get himself into shape to perform at the highest levels. If he were 20 pounds lighter, he'd have faster hands and better stamina. Maybe then, he'd be able to work on his technique and fundamentals. He got beat down Saturday night and if that was not a wake up call for him, then yes this is the end to his path of bigger things.
You need to get started to get finished. If you are 6 foot 2 and weigh 250 pounds then you shouldn't be doing any professional sport, let alone boxing.
He has ONE lifeline left... But he needs to leave his current trainer & rebuild for people to fall for it. Shell out some $$ & hire Heredia & get w/Garcia or Joel Diaz hire a "name" trainer.
I wouldn't mind for Chris to take a year off to get in shape via PED's, and then wean off to keep it up naturally. He just needs to get down to good shape, and then EAT accordingly to keep it that way.
Problem is he basically just took that year off already. His camp needs to be broken apart its obvious that dude with the Dodger hat ain't cutting the mustard as a trainer because CA keeps getting worse every fight out shape wise.
I don't know how the hell he boxes in the kind of shape he's in. I like what some people have said, needs to take a year off to get in shape. If he does, then I would change my vote and say he's not finished.
**** no. He's still the most naturally talented Heavyweight in the division and if he's fit he'll destroy anyone put in front of him.
Finished as a professional prizefighter? No, of course not. Finished as a top level operator and future belt-holder? Yeah, pretty much. He'll probably hover around the top fifteen or twenty for a few years, and his all action brawling style will always attract the casuals, which will attract the networks and therefore ensure decent paydays in the future, but I think even his die hard fans realise his ceiling has been reached. He's simply not a truly elite fighter, overweight or not, and that's never going to change. He's also an undisciplined slob, but that's par for the course nowadays.
