So is Froch v Kessler getting the Casuals involved? Is the hype working?

Why? It's a niche sport with a limited budget. To get this fight for free the boxers involved would have to be paid less.

People are paying upwards of £100 a month essentially to line the pockets of premiership footballers...of their own volition.

I totally agree on the last sentence mate. But would it be "free" if it was on Sky Sports 1?

People are still paying top dollar for SS, so it wouldn't be free would it?

Anyways mate, I'd be careful around these parts JonnyBGay will try to influence you. He "categorically destroys me" on an internet forum, allegedly.

Thats almost as bad as "He physically glassed me" :rofl

Anyone know if SBO will be showing adverts between rounds? :huh

well it would essentially be free, the sky sports package is approx what £25ish a month. How much of that £25 goes on the boxing budget? 50p? 25p?

To be perfectly honest all that matters to me when a PPV is announced is whether or not one of my casual-fan mates will be willing to host a party and pay for it.

I don't mind forking out £10/month for boxnation on top of £35/month for Sky Sports as long as someone else pays for the big fights.

And with CL Final day being an annual lads all day drinking sesh anyway, the boxing is just an added bonus. If the true fans don't have anyone to split the bill with, tough, watch it at a pub if you don't want to pay for it.

At the end of the day, as much as Froch is slagged for the Warrior patter, the one thing you can be sure is that this won't be a pathetic surrender job like Haye v Klitschko or Fraudley v Haye or a 3 minute mauling like Hatton v Pacquiao. For the first time in a long time a PPV involving a British fighter should be worth watching

It shouldn't be PPV & I've not had any casual fans ask me about this fight

Its a shame because it will probably deliver a higher quality main event than many other previous PPV's but Froch just isn't a very marketable guy so the UK viewing numbers will be modest.

    :good

Hasn't got much cross over appeal Carl, but boy have they tried!

Not many people know who Carl Froch is apart from Boxing fans. Carl hasn't really got an individual personality that separates him. He just isnt a character as such, and that helped a lot of fighters get over years gone by. Carl is very dry and doesn't really have a lot outside of the ring. But boxing fans like to watch him because he is involved in good fights, a tough ****er and is a.....warrior.

    Sorry.

I'm always surprised at the hate Froch gets. A lot of people just don't seem to 'get' him. I think he's a pretty cool character, yeah he's got a healthy dose of Alan Partridge about him but I find it quite endearing personally. "hmm, Pink on my ipod, dunno how that got there" :D

Every sports fan in Britain knows who he is, don't know where you lot are getting this idea from. I reckon this will do plenty of buys
