Is Helenius finally back, or was this a one-off?

Just interested to see what everyone thinks. Is he finally healed and motivated? Does the right hand finally have the old power? Did he look in shape?

Or did he just get lucky?

Or do you think it was just the opponent?

    Elaborate.

He looked to be in better shape than I've seen in some other fights, but I think it was more to do with the right opponent than him being rejuvenated.

I always liked Helenius, thought he was an exciting young prospect but didn't think he'd become a champion. His jab isn't great, he's way too upright and easy to hit at times and isn't the most fluid boxer, but he could always punch which made him worth watching.

The injuries and time out due to promotional issues didn't help him. I don't think he's ever looked the same since his return, even last night it was more, he had an opponent who he couldn't miss and who didn't know how to survive when hurt, than any improvements he's made. Allow Helenius free reign to land the right hand and you're asking for trouble but any of the top guys wouldn't allow it to be utilised as often as it was vs Kownacki.

Not taking anything away from helenius cause he still can crack and put in the effort. But he was knackered after that barage of punches. if the ref didnt wave it off and knowacki made a cute move and survived the round helenius would be finished in the next round IMO

Poor, overrated, very limited opponent thats shown warnings signs in several of his previous fights that he was going to be beaten sooner rather than later. There's about 20 or so guys in the divison that i would pick to beat Kownacki.

Helenuis was a legit contender 10 years ago, but ever since his severe shoulder injury, he hasnt been the same fighter. Wont be expecting much from the 36 year old nordic nightmare, but hats off too him, even with a bum shoulder hes still good enough to keep contenders and up and comers honest and knock a few off. Hopefully he gets a good payday or two out of this victory before hanging em up.

Based on some of his comments post fight, seems like he had a few mental/depression/motivational issues. Probably took fights unprepared or without proper care. He definitely looked surprisingly fit and prepared here. He was withstanding a lot of pressure and landed good counters to win, so it's not like anyone could have beaten Fat Pole on the night, still took a good performance.

I think what happened is, Helenius was down and out, but then one day out ice skating, he remembered that time Fury went AWOL in the Klitschko rematch camp and just let him punch him clean in the face, before the lineal champ went off and began head butting the ring post ... Helenius thought, 'I'm way less mentally fcked than Fury, and if he can get himself back on track, maybe ol' Robbie can too ...'

When he fights Joshua ,Pulev, Fury, or Wilder he'll be ko'ed ,probably brutally. Heck, I don't see him beating anyone in the top 10

    Given he already has...

Why will he be KOed by Pulev? Pulev is old as **** now. I'd say Helenius' limit is someone like Chisora, or maybe Jennings

I'd try and gun for Washington rematch.
