Last yr, when GGG beat then WBA titlist Danny Jacobs, the WBA minor title became vacant and Murata picked it up by beating NDam 2X(yeah I know the official ruling). Murata has since defended the WBA title in a voluntary against EU Champ, Blandamura. Jacobs win last night was an eliminator, but it's been advertised as if his mandate is for GGG. But when the concept of a super/regular champ was conceived, it was advertised as a means for UNIFIED WBA Champs to make bigger fights allowing for the REGULAR champ to take mandates for up to 18 months before imposing THIER own on the SUPER CHAMP. So Murata has to either take the Jacobs fight or pursue the GGG fight. I simply don't believe that Jacobs has earned the right to leap frog Murata DChenko or Charlo. He was thoroughly beaten by GGG and has just won his 2nd best W. A fight with Murata would give us a genuine WBA MANDATORY.
IBF is up first next is the WBC and the WBA is last as far as which mandatory GGG has to face to avoid being stripped..
He will still fight El Pollo next, then Chenko, Jacobs said he would fight Charlo next if Charlo does not chicken out..................Golovkin can't defend more than one mantatory at at time. How do you become mandatory? Do like Charlo, beat a cripple, then beat Pee Wee Herman!
Mallow fought Heiland.... A tough, strong and gritty contender that sent Mack into retirement to earn the #1 ranking. There were some grumblings from HBO and K2 that the WBC was readying to enforce the GGG v Heiland fight if Alvarez did not. So Heiland pushed on, and ran into Mallo.... Mallo beat the #1 WBC contender. Not his fault that Heiland wasn't 100%
