So, is Ward stepping up finally from the Smith's and Rodriguez' in this world?

Ward did not face a light heavyweight version of Chad Dawson. Chad drained himself to make the weight, so Ward did not fight a Chad Dawson at full strength. Pascal beat Dawson, while Kovalev destroyed Pascal. Pascal>Dawson.

    Dawson lost to Karpency.

HBO is trying to make a Kovalev/Ward fight for next year, but Ward has not agreed yet.........................Ward would not even fight Stevenson at 168....................

This. Kovalev should be ranked higher than Ward. He has good wins, the manner he wins and he travels. Unstoppable.

Dawson at 168lbs and was so drained he went onto lose to Stevenson in a round and Tommy Karpency. No I don't think so.

I don't even rate that win as a solid one on Ward's resume to be honest.

That's funny because ward said he would make 160 for Floyd so surely he can make 164 after all Ward used to fight at 160...

Ward's resume is overrated. His best wins are Froch, Kessler, Dawson, Abraham and Bika lol.
Even Adonis Stevenson beat two of those guys more convincingly.

I would argue not only Dawson was horrifically weight drained, he was past his prime too.

    Ward has 2 options:

    GGG or Kovalev

Ward is going to have to fight one of them and prove his Chin.

LMFAO You're re****ed because you talking like these 4 fighters Kovalev beat which that is a great resumes? LMFAO let me break it down these 4 fighters that log beat.

Campillo? He wasn't a world champion if I remember right because before he fought kovalev, he was coming a lost to cloud which I thought he got robbed. Cloud was never known to me as at least a very good fighter. Besides cloud Campillo didn't face any real challenge at all.

Cleverly? LMFAO Really? Who has he beat that was a real good fighter before or after kovalev huh?

Pascal? OK cool but if that's really kovalev best win? Then it's laughable considering Pascal lost to Froch which this is the same froth that ward easily beat. And let's be honest Pascal got lucky vs Dawson which Dawson was inch of knocking Pascal out if it wasn't for that stupid ref. And Pascal really lost twice vs a very old Hopkins who lost easily to Dawson in a rematch.

Now kovalev easily beat a 50 year old very decline Hopkins I mean really? Lol.

Now let's compare ward resumes to kovalev resumes.

    Kessler > Pascal

    Miranda > Cleverly

Froch > 50 year old Hopkins

    Abraham > Campillo

Gabriel Campillo was a world champion, who had his share of controversial losses. Abraham was not even the best middleweight at 160, when he transitioned to 168, he had less than stellar success.

    Campillo> Abraham

49 year old Hopkins would have outboxed Carl Froch, who is known as a crude brawler, and is outboxable. At 49 years of age he unified two belts.

    Hopkins> Carl Froch

Cleverly was actually a world champion who was undefeated at the time Kovalev fought him, Miranda was never a World champion.

    Cleverly> Miranda

Pascal was the former unified/lineal champ, Kessler was never a lineal champ. Kessler's best wins were against Carl Froch, who is very outboxable.

    Pascal> Kessler

Note Kovalev absolutely trashed Pascal, while Froch did NOT. The manner in which Kovalev achieved his resume also adds more weight to it. If you want to be cynical about things, Kessler was past his prime, Abraham was a bloated up middleweight with inferior success at 168, and Froch was a crude brawler.
