So, it has now been over 7 years since Pacquiao first fought Marquez.

Can you believe that it's going to take the most accomplished fighter of our generation 7+ years and 19 pounds later to finally decisively beat Marquez?

What does that say about Pacquiao and his ability to deal with a little counter punching?

Most people had Marquez winning those 2 fights.
I personally had both fights a draw when I scored them.

Pacquiao and team have thought about this fight well though.
Everyone and their mommas know the catchweight where this fight would be most competitive would be at 140.

Even though Pacquiao has to force himself to eat loads to maintain the weight at 144 and could easily make 140 if he wanted, Team Pac knows Pacquiao will have the advantage because Pacquiao has fought successfully at that weight while Marquez has fought there once, and failed.

Just another fight where Pacquiao looks for advantages.
*******s will celebrate the victory as if it were greater than Ali/Foreman.

Don't your fellow *****s always say Pac is one-dimensional? So a green 23 year old, one dimensional Pac got a draw (only because of a judges scoring error) against a prime 29 year old future HOF and ATG Juan Manuel Marquez and scored 3 knockdowns in the process.

In the rematch, a still green, weight drained Pac (see above), managed to beat a still prime Juan Manuel Marquez (and still HOF bound and ATG) and scored another knockdown along the way, while having blood flow into his eyes from a cut.

Now, a 32 year old Pac, in his prime, will face a 38 year old Marquez, who is slightly past prime but still #5 P4P, who looked great in his last few fights (except Floyd) will be facing Pac for the 3rd time at the same weight Floyd had initially signed to fight him at 144. Stylistically a great matchup. This time Marquez is facing Pac at his best. R.I.P. JMM :yep.

I agree the Pac/Marquez fight shouldn't take place (ANOTHER catchweight Pac? WTF is wrong with you?!), but PBF is bigger than Pac - who is probably a natural 140 these days :hey

Gayweather weighed in close to 160 against JMM.

Even JMM was saying that Gayweather had at least 10 pounds on him.

Pac's is closer to 150 at fight time.

Um, maybe bacause Floyd is big for both of them, but Pacquiao clearly shows he hang with the big boys.

Compared to your "Man" Floydie who needs to cheat the catchweight just to beat a bloated lightweight eh :patsch That's more DISGRACEFUL compared to PAC's upcoming fight :good What can you say about that VecArrow?:D

If Pac is 32 now, and the fight was 7 years ago, how could he have been 23 years old?

Ive said it in every thread about Pac vs Marquez, the weight is irrelevant. All the Marquez vs Mayweather fight proved was that Marquez couldnt handle fighting a significantly bigger counter puncher.

Pac dosent rehydrate up 10+ pounds for a fight at welter (hell he never even makes the welter limit himself!). In Pacs last two fights he has come in at 148 pounds, and Marquez came in at 145 against Katsidis. THREE POUNDS, whoopdeedoo! There are much greater weight discrepancies from guys who fight in the same damn weight division (Ortiz vs. Berto, anyone??)

Come fight night it will probably be the exact same thing, Marquez at 145 vs Pac at 148. Keep in mind for their last fight Marquez weighed 141 and Pac weighed 145 (an even greater weight discrepancy then will likely be in their upcoming fight).

these guys could fight at 135, 140, 147 and the reality is they will come in on fight night being very close in weight to one another. The only thing Marquez has to do is not boil down in training camp as much as he is used to, and even if he did he would still rehydrate up to right around Pacs fight night weight anyway.
