So, it has now been over 7 years since Pacquiao first fought Marquez.

Even Uncle Roger thinks Pacquiao is too small for his nephew.

Momentum and success doesn't wait around for the ones struggling. Besides....JMM ducked the rematch back in 2004 which is why it took 4 yrs for the rematch to happen.

JMM knew what time it was after he walked out of the first meeting with his titles and a bogus draw. So he took the hint and decided it would be better for his legacy if he avoided PAC.

So instead...he took short money and a fight over in Indonesia with chris john (which he lost) instead of the immediate remeatch with PAC.

The only reason PAC hasn't fought JMM a 3rd time is simple. BIGGER FISH TO FRY! JMM didn't offer the name DLH had...or Hatton had or Cotto or Marg had. So now that PAC has cleaned and cleared out all the big name foes...>JMM is the next best option at this present time.

So he'll get his retirement check this year.

Pointless post, never said he ducked Marquez to fight those other guys.

    What I'm saying is

First time they fought, he couldn't get a decisive victory.
4 years later and and 5 pounds heavier, he still couldn't get a decisive victory.
Now another 3 years later and 9 pounds heavier, that's what is going to take to beat Marquez decisively.

If it was at 140, i would give Marquez a chance, but at 144, Pacquiao will destroy him.

Pacquiao had to get that much bigger than Marquez to finally beat him.

Manny took time evolving as a compelte fighter...but the weight definitly helps. Just like had Floyd fought JMM at 130, 135 or even 126 in his prime, it would have been a much more competitive fight than what we saw at 146!

JMM needs to be a his ideal weight to be effective. especially at this stage of his career.
