    I don't think so.

I'd give Floyd a lot of credit if he fights Canelo though, and I'd have a huge amount of respect for him if he won.

But you know how it would play out on here if Canelo won.

    Canelo wouldn't get any credit.

There'd be hundreds of threads saying Floyd was too small, and the fight wasn't fair etc.

MVC would end up being locked into a mental institution for his own safety.

A combination of supreme confidence, patience, speed, power, pressure, heart. Floyd has a lot more skill, and fantastic footwork. But I think Canelo would pose a huge threat, and he seems to be getting hit less with each fight, and he seems to be getting sharper and faster. He's improving every fight.

I think he would give Floyd a very hard fight.

Is it because Mayweather holds a title in Canelo's weight class?

It's this type of hypocrisy that makes many boxing fans just fvcking idiots when it comes to anything Floyd. To this day Floyd get's shat on by many fans that he fought Ricky Hatton and made him come up one division. Never mind that in this day in age of boxers cutting down maximum weight to compete means it's much easier to come up in weight than go down. Yet, somehow it's ok for a potential "future great" in Canelo to try and feast on a guy who will weigh no where's near his weight come fight night. Ricky was undefeated and had taken down another great 140 lber to get his title.

Why is that fight so disregarded by boxing fans yet Canelo is such "must" fight that anyone else short of Sergio is just not acceptable? It's so funny because I remember several years ago saying that haters would be calling for Floyd to fight the MW champ in order to prove himself. Then it was Kelly that held the belt, but my premise was proven correct.

I didn't mean patient as in giving Floyd time to think. I meant patient, as in being calm and sticking to a game plan, not letting emotions get in the way. I think Canelo is very mature for his age.

I'm not sure where you're coming from?

    Hypocrisy?

Ricky Hatton had never fought at 147 to my knowledge. But I didn't expect Floyd to fight him at 140 anyway, because he'd just fought Oscar 7 months previously at 154.

I've never heard people criticise Floyd for dragging Ricky up. I've got a huge amount of respect for Ricky, but Floyd was the man, and the fight was going to be on his terms. I don't think the outcome would have been any different at 140 anyway.

What do you mean it's ok for Canelo to FEAST on a guy a lot smaller?

People want to see this fight, because it would be a great fight that would be intriguing.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that FLOYD HAS FOUGHT AT 154.

Now if he'd never fought at that weight, you'd have a point.

But Floyd has fought at 154, and he knows that most guys, if not all of the guys he fights at that weight are probably going to weigh more on fight night.

This is how simple it is.

If Floyd feels as though he's too small on fight night, and he's at a huge disadvantage, then he shouldn't ****ing fight there. End of!

Oscar rehydrated by 11 pounds in 2007, and fought at 165.

So Floyd was fighting against a SMW in theory.

That was ok though wasn't it?

An Oscar weighing 165, who'd only fought twice in 3 years, was considered a great win, and that was 7 years ago.

Look what Chavez Jnr weighed on fight night against Martinez.

As long as Canelo weighs in at 154 or under, there should be no excuse whatsoever.

Again, if the 154 guys are too big, then he shouldn't be fighting in that weight class.

But he's had a belt there. He's fought there before, he claims to be the greatest ever, and Canelo is the biggest fight out there for him now.

He's in the cheque cashing business, so go and let him cash Canelo's cheque.

If Floyd can't stand the heat, then he needs to get his ass out of the kitchen!

    There shouldn't be an issue.

Floyd's been happy to fight at 154, he takes credit for his victory over Oscar, and he's also a champion.

It's just a ready made excuse for if Floyd fights Canelo and loses.

Basically it's this - every Floyd nuthugger going on about Canelo being too big is basically admitting, without even realising, that DLH and Cotto were 100% cherrypicks in terms of being recognised as a true 154 champion - it's ok to fight specific guys at 154 but avoid others?
