It's going to be straight up at 154 as well.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but clearly you must have been living in a cave if you think most credit Floyd for a good win against Ricky. In respects to the weight on Canelo, I don't believe he should have an issue with canelo's size. I was calling for Floyd to fight Sergio right after Sergio took out Paul Williams. Everyone else wanted Pac, but I knew Pac would not do as much for his legacy, in the long run, as taking the belt away from Sergio.

My whole point in this is that I wouldn't get on hating Floyd or calling him a ducker if he chose not to fight Canelo because of the significant weight difference he might present. Just like I wouldn't if he didn't face Sergio. These guys will have 20+ lbs on him fight night and that is not very typical for a guy who is maxed out at like 149-150 lbs. I just think a fight like Sergio is just icing on the proverbial legacy cake.

Most fighters have done it. Trainers, promoters and fighters have all admitted there is some form of "cherry picking" that goes on in almost every fighter's career.

Technically, you are correct about Floyd cherry picking Oscar. There is documentation of Floyd saying he wanted to fight Oscar as far back as when he was at 130. He has always emulated Oscar, in respects to obtaining his status in the sport of boxing. I see nothing wrong with having a goal (cherry picking) and trying to get to it. The fact that he gave up on every demand Oscar made let us know how bad he wanted that fight, no matter what weight Oscar was coming in at.

    Dillyyo,

I've never seen Floyd get lots of credit for beating Ricky Hatton, but likewise, I've never seen him really get criticised for fighting him either. Ricky was overrated, and wasn't in Floyd's league.

I'd have loved to have seen him fight Sergio or Manny, but it was never going to happen. Pac would have done a lot more for his legacy in my opinion. Because there's always people who would have said Sergio was too big.

I would definitely call him a ducker if he didn't fight Canelo.

He already had a verbal agreement with Canelo, and then he changed his mind. He's forever telling us he's in the cheque cashing business, and he wants the biggest paydays. Canelo is the biggest payday out there at the moment, bar none. Maybe they'll let the fight build for next year, who knows? I think Cotto will get absolutely hammered if he fights Canelo next. As great as Floyd is, he can be intimidated. He knows Canelo has supreme confidence, and he wants to fight him. The outcome of the Cotto fight (if it goes ahead) could play a huge role in Floyd's thinking.

I think Sergio is coming to the end of the line now, although I hope I'm wrong. He seems to be getting easier to hit. I think GGG will fight him next year and I'd give him a great chance of knocking him out.
