Why is it not ok? If Golovkin can make 155, he should go for it. :conf

It's Roach/Cotto who somehow think 159 is ok for Martinez while it should be 155 for a bigger guy in Golovkin. What's up with that?

...and you had to make a thread about it instead of keeping it in mine. Oh dear.

Well the thing is Cotto fights at GGG's weight. I think both instances are pretty gay though.

Gee... lets see how hard this is to work out.

    * G does not fight at 168. So if Ward keeps begging for a fight with them, and even suggests themselves they might be willing to go down a bit, the two sides fight at a catchweight.
    * Cotto is the 'champion' of Golovkins division, and will be defending their divisions belt if they fight

    Do you comprehend that?

You do understand that if Cotto and Golovkin fight, they are both champions at that weight, and will be fighting to see who is the man at that weight? Then you realise that Ward has nothing to do with the middleweight division, so team G 'asking' for a catweight to make that fight happen isnt at all like a champion demanding a catchweight to fight someone in his own weightclass :patsch

Your posts have been embarressing on this subject.

Sidenote : I dont support a catchweight fight between G and Ward.

But the difference in the two cases is stunningly obvious.

Sidenote II : G should just call team Cottos bluff and accept the catchweight. Id bet money team Cotto still wouldnt take the fight.

Let's cut thru the chase and forget semantics and let's talk boxing business...

At this point which fight will bring GGG more notoriety a more importantly grossing more money for the fight.... Ward or Cotto...

I think the answer is obvious, and should agreed!

Mr. O..... a word of advise.

When you find yourself constantly agreeing with one of this sites worst posters, you should probably sit down and make sure you havent become biased or agenda driven somewhere along the way.

You are obviously a fan of Cotto, as am I, but you are comparing apples to oranges in a way that defies logic.

You are a better poster then this.

Fans complain way too much. All that matters is that we get to see some of these great fights. Golovkin and his people say he can get down as low as 154 with little problem. So if a fight between Cotto and Golovkin happens, even if it's at 155 or 156, I'm ok with that. As far as Ward, if he wants to fight Golovkin so bad that he's willing to drop below 168, than that's his decision. I don't see the problem.

Cotto - middleweight 'champion', fighting Golvokin, a middleweight champion, for the undisputed title in their division

is different, if fought at a catchweight, than

160lb Golovkin, fighting 168lb Ward, where they both agree to meet in the middle.

That is the bottom line. Anything else is trying to spin it to try and suit an agenda.
