Inside fighting. He cant thrown s*iT inside. Not a uppercut or a hook. Nothing. How the hell is Martinez gonna get tired if you let him rest by clinching him on the inside and not working?????

it was repetative all night ...... jab jab cross clinch .... jab jab cross clinch.

And thats a world class fighter ?????

Kelly was very dissapointing. He looked like a ESPn undercard fighter.

    Showed no skill.

It was a combo of both Pavlik looking bad and Sergio looking good. Kelly was never really an elite fighter in my opinion. He's just strong and rugged, sorta like Hatton. And Sergio is just tough for anyone to deal with. With the exception of a possibly cheating Margarito nobody has really beaten or looked great against Sergio. Paul Williams is a beast, highly avoided fighter. Sergio not only knocked him down pretty convincingly but also won the fight in my opinion. This says a lot about Sergio's skills.

I completely agree with the TS.

During the fight I found myself wondering 'why the hell doesn't Pavlik ever try to fight on the inside, especially against smaller guys like Martinez? It's the only chance he has to land a power punch using the uppercut, or dig to the body to slow down his opponent a bit'. Every time an opponent ties him up, he gets frozen and is completely neutrilized. He should at least try to throw something on the inside, make the other guy think 'if I tie him up, I will be hit with something for my trouble'.

I guess that's another one of Pavlik's flaws: No inside fighting.

Pavlik never showd any ability to box on the inside, he looks incredibly uncoordinated when he tries to.. Really if he can't throw one-twos at you from a comfortable distance he looks lost..

Jermaine Taylor cant fight on the inside either. Bhop beat Pavliks ass on the inside. Our new crop of fighters except guys like Ward, dont even try.. lol. Thats why you got to respect any fighter out now that can fight on the inside.

It honestly looks like Jack Lowe does nothing but strenghth work. He looks like he spars with local talent who hangs around the gym. He has no combonations at all. I found it kinda weird watching it. Martinez is not hard to hit. If Williams had power .... Martinez would have woke up last week. Lowe is not that good of a trainer and it shows when Kelly doesnt have a human punching bag in front of him.

You can still catch a guy like Martinez on the outside lunging in. But to do that you can't depend on where his feet are. You gotta figure his position and then another foot or two. You absolutely cannot depend on where a guy like Hopkins or Martinez have their feet set. They lunge inside so it's always going to be an off balance shot. That seemed to throw Pavlik off in both fights.
