and that is not good enough? I guess you could give the 1st round to Thompson. Thompson had never been KOed before either.

What else could he have done besides a quick KO? The fight was never in doubt.

I see your point. A win is a win at the end of the day but it is the manner of Wlad's wins that makes people think he isn't so good. He fight's far to tentativly.

At times during his fight's i always feel that if he just stepped up the pace a bit and took more risk's then he could get his man out of there quicker. I think Wlad doesn't do this though because to me he appears to fight like a man who has absolutely no confidence in his chin what so ever. So really, although he may be tentative i suppose i can't really blame him for fighting in this way if he does not trust his chin to take a decent shot.

His lack of figtting skill's in close or even at mid range also makes me not rate him so well. He can only fight at long range. Admittedly he is great at fighting at long range. He can keep his man beind his jab well (although i would like it if he threw that hard straight right more after his jab) and if his man gets close he smother's them and holds them well. But i feel if a figher comes along that can get inside of his jab and is strong enough to fight of Wlad's holding then he will have the better of Wlad. It's a big if though.

If Wlad goes out and Ray Austins the guy that means he fought a bum...and if he get's the KO too late that means he wasn't good enough.....I don't think it is possible for Wlad to please everybody.

Wlad is freakish strong. In the past he showed a good ability to fight in close but it seems to be something Manny has trained out of him. Since no one can hang with him at long range I suppose if you create situations where the fight is 90% an outside fight; you win.

With his strength I am not sure who can counter the style he has developed though the style is what gets the criticism. Wlad is a good student and has adopted a style which appears to drive folks batty. Judging by some of the comments very...batty.

Hard to argue with success though and I think his winning is what really gets to some of the "posters" and their insightful diatribes.

Yet... if Wlad loses.... the other fighter (who is bashed before the fight by Wlad haters to discredit a possible Wlad victory) is hoisted into the air, and becomes the greatest fighter in the division. (Lamon Brewster)

It's amazing. I remember back before Wlad fought Brewster, the Klitschko haters didn't even know who the hell Brewster was, and was downgrading him. I came on here showing some clips of Brewster, and I was explaining that this could be a tough fight, because Brewster has a great chin and a lot of power. The Wlad haters immediately laughed at me, and claimed that I was trying to turn a bum into a credible opponent. During the fight, Brewster shows a great chin and a lot of power... wins the fight.... and those same haters on here all had Brewster ranked #1 in the division, and were talking about how great he was.:-( Wlad beats Brewster in the rematch, and people pretend like Brewster was washed up... and that he was a C level fighter anyways. They go back and forth like the tide, and say whatever they can say to completely discredit Wlad at any moment. Just like the Sam Peter fight. Before the fight, they were acting like Sam Peter was an unstoppable wrecking machine. They (haters) all claimed that Wlad would NEVER GO NEAR Sam Peter, and that if he did, his career would be over. Wlad seeks out the fight with Peter, makes Peter the offer... gets the fight, and beats Peter. All of the sudden they called Peter an overrated bum, and still bashed Wlad for his win. Now... all of the sudden, Peter wins a few fights and he is once again an unstoppable machine that will kill Wlad if they fight.:patsch It just never ends.

It was not exciting to watch, which is why I would imagine people are complaining about the performence.

Winning every round is exaggerated, I had the fight pretty close up to the 10th round. Have a look at Wlads face, it was quite marked, Thompson came to fight and did very well the first rounds. Klitschko was clearly getting the upper hand by the 10th tho, Thompson was gassed and he hurt his ankle when they stumbled and fell at the end of the 10th.

The fight turned out just as I predicted, and as I said Klitschko has the punch to end a fight at any point.

But all in all it's a good win for Wlad, it was an action-packed fight and he won by KO, just what he wanted, so he can be happy. The HW division needs a dominant champ, Wlad is the only fighter at the moment who can be that, so it's a good thing he keeps winning and defends his belts. And he showed improved body punching, so at his age and with Manny as a trainer I think he can still improve.

    Watched the 10 pm replay.

The fight was more boring when you know the outcome.

Better to watch than the Sultan fight but still boring.

I now think Wlad looked better after a 2nd viewing.

Thompson was awkward and Big Bad Wlad had some trouble with the southpaw stance.

But he took over late and scored the ko.

Solid win that he'll wrongly catch more **** than credit for.

no doubt he's a very good technically proficient boxer. but some people just don't like the dull safety first approach which is bringing him success.

i don't think thats too difficult to understand.
