What would this do for his career?

I'd have to say...I'd almost certainly consider him the greatest MW I'd ever seen if this happens. He's in his MID 40's! To come down after beating Tarver, Wright and coming extremely close to beating Calzaghe and spank Pavlik would be astonishing.

Is the fight at MW? I don't think it is. The funny thing is when Hopkins was fighting at Middleweight his biggest wins are against former WWs and since he moved up to Lt Heavy he has called two fighters up Wright and Calzaghe from lower weights to fight him there

I think Hopkins legacy is already cemented. When he beats Pavlik, it will just be icing on the cake.
For Pavlik however, a loss to a 43 year old will be devestating, as everyone will finally find out that he's no where near as good as he's being hyped up to be. Don't get me wrong; I like Pavlik. He's good, but I think he is being tremendously over rated.

I don't think I can ever recall one post you have made that is pro Pavlik. You seem to do a drive by diss and that is it.

You are right. It will be a fight at a catchweight of 170 lb.

You might be right. But I actually do like Pavlik.
Anyone who rid us of the faux champ Taylor is okay in my book.
Pavlik is one of those fighters that is very fun to watch. He has a crowd pleasing style, lots of guts, and great power.

Any escessive dissing of Pavlik is probably because I'm comparing him to one of my favorite fighters, Bernard Hopkins.

It will show that Pavlik is not as great as Americans make him out to be. Lets face it he is the great white hope and white America has hyped him up to be the best. I think the Hokins fight is 50-50 only because Hopkins tires out and is not very active throughout the whole fight. A younger Hopkins destroys Pavlik.
Calzaghe right now would also give him the boxing lesson of his life.
Kessler TKOs him probably early on in the fight.
Abraham could maybe beat him but i doubt it.

BHOP is the most boring ******* in the history of boxing. You point to his

"greatness" of beating a 38 year old actor and a overweight Winky. Hopkins

showed signs of packing it in vs Calzaghe who can't break and egg. Pavlik will

either KO this jerk or make him quit. Hopkins has this rep of a scary guy who

destroys people but he is a joke, his biggest fear is of an actual fight breaking

    out in the ring.

I really hope BHOP wins this one, it would be a great big F_ _ K YOU to the "powers that be" in boxing trying to put their new cash cow in with what they feel is an aging, over the hill great. I would love to see Hop stick it up their asses.

i would love to see B HOP get KTFO. id rather watch grass grow than another one of his boring ass fights. Yes hes an all time great but theres a reason why the number of people who pay to watch his fights diminishes after every time he steps in the ring.

on the other hand pavlik is a balls out boxer who puts everything on the table. try to find a single win in all of b hop's career that was as courageous as pavlik's win over jermain taylor.
