I was acussed of being ignorant for claiming Pavlik was the great white hope - glad im not the only one!
I just pointed out that he has only really beaten Taylor - that is not enough for p4p status in my book.

If he beats Pavlik he better retire, which I know he wont.

If Pavlik beats him, there is a possibility that he may be retired.

Im in two minds, id love to B-Hop pull off a shock and cement his legend, but at the same time i dont want to jeopordize plans for a calzaghe pavlik fight.

no, cause then he'll say "i just beat the best, i cant stop now, and if i just beat the best, apparently i have what it takes to keep beating the best."

I meant if Pavlik wins, BHOP may just lose on point but what about if he is KOed for the first time in his career?

If heis KO'd, I still think he has too much pride and he wouldn't want to go out getting KO'd. And he's not gonna wanna go out with a loss. So I dont think Hopkins will retire after the Pavlik fight.

I'm quite worried about Pavlik taking this fight. Bernard is somehow always close on the cards at the end of the fight. Hell, I had Calzaghe beat him 9-3, 116-111 and they announce a split decision. I've always respected BH but never called myself a fan of his. Kelly is what boxing needs, an excititng young fighter with power who is just about to enter his physical prime. Hopkins winning would be a terrible thing in my opinion. Boxing needs young fighters and great fights to rejuvenate the sport and I really hope that Pavlik beats Bernard in great fight that gets people talking. Now, if Bernard were to win, he definitely move up spots in the ATG category, but this fight has no barring on his middleweight legacy. I'll definately be rooting for KP, because he is awesome. Not Calzaghe awesome, but pretty damn awesome.
