And am I the only one who'd quite like to see Burns - Linares?

Probably a no-win fight for Ricky, but nevertheless it's one i'd like to see.

Talk about grabbing the chance while you can... unlike Burns-VVarren wanting out for a bigger payday

well what has been said by nelson is that they want time before the Broner fight ,which if the fight does come to fruition i don't mind waiting a few months ,but if Rees wins ( a big ask but still possible) it would be a missed opperutanity for Burns team in my opnion

He would definitely move ahead of Burns in my opinion if he were to win. The win alone trumps Burns' wins over 3 fringe contenders.

However, I see next to know chance of it happening. I like Rees abd hopes he does well but I don't know what he brings that would trouble Broner. I'd enjoy a Burns-Rees fight more personally and even though I think Ricky would win, I think it'd be a lot closer.

Some people on here are too quick to get the knives out. Broner will most likely fight Burns in May. Broner keeps calling Burns out, even the other day he was calling him out, saying he's not leaving 135 untill he fights Burns who he rates as the next best in the division. Broner is hyping up the Burns fight by constantly bringing up Burns name. Also, the fact Broners fighting Rees [another brit] gives Broner more exposure in the uk making the Burns fight in May bigger. It all makes sense plus Broner doesnt sell tickets, it makes much more sense for Ricky to fight Broner on the undercard of the Mayweather fight in May. Much more exposure, much bigger crowd and much more money as well i assume.

Or maybe they discounted them since they are in most p4p top tens? Laughable that a loss to either of those would mean you are done

I really don't care if there's friction between the two

So take away all this guy's achievements and the ask what he's done? The answer is always going to be, nothing, because you've set the criteria in your question that removes any achievement he has had from being applicable in the answer. You could do this with any fighter/athlete/team in history and you'll always make them look like they've achieved nothing.

Tbf both fights took their toll on Kats, he was no spring chicken going into the JMM fight but he took a beating in both of them. It's still a good win for Burns but something was definitely missing from Kats, but he still gave JMM and Guerrero a good shot, but emptied his tank in doing so.

If Rees beats Broner then absolutely he's in front of Burns, by a distance aswell. He'd have beaten the #1 Lightweight in the world and a man who team Burns are petrified of.

after the dissapointment of Walsh and Ocompo a good training camp wasted and probably shedding about 16 pounds then after a couple of days and the weight he lost is back on i understand Burns not wanting the fight in February,Broner is a class above anything that Burns has fought so Burns needs at least a 8 week training camp, no one should be criticising Burns the guy has to be in the right mode mentally, the fight game is not the same as it was 20-30 years ago

    Without a shadow of a doubt,name the boxer he's fought that's better?
Even Broner says him and Ricky are the best,in saying that it's about the only sensible thing he has said!
