Look, I know you and I don't see things eye to eye all the time, but I do respect your knowledge of the sport. You've probably forgotten more about boxing than I'll ever know. So, let me explain why I don't buy into the injury. Loma's career has been meticulously managed and guided. We all know the story of him being put in dancing so he would have great foot work. His team had great connections so when he turned pro he could get title shots early. His team plans everything to the Nth degree. His main objective is to do great things in the sport in the fewest fights possible, which he has done. Now, in the biggest fight of his career, against his biggest opponent, with historic implications, you're telling me his team is going to let the fight go on knowing he has a bad shoulder and can't throw punches? What is the point? What is to be gained? His team is too smart to make a mistake like that. The negative implications were far less for postponing the fight than keeping the original date. You're telling me his team wasn't aware of this? What they did is equivalent to master robbers planning to rob Ft Knox. Put in all the work and research and use a get away car with a bad transmission. Just doesn't make sense.

Her score was bad. The right guy won, that's what matters.

If he wins the rematch then fair play. That's what's Mayweather had to do with Castillo.

But unless he proves he can beat Teo, I'm not overly impressed by a losing effort whilst injured.

I don't think top rank deliberately rigged the event no, I do think those two particular judges handed in dubious cards yes. 119-109 and 117-111. Come on.. it was 115-113 Lopez at best.. what else would cards like that suggest to you? Incompetence? Do you think my questioning the character of boxing judges unreasonable? It's not like the sport doesn't have form in this area is it.. so YES, on the part of those two I see corruption. How deep that goes I don't know .. BS judging!

Lopez fought better and deserved the win. He mentally prepared himself to face Lomachenko and obsessed with him for over 2 years. He had put everything into that fight (did you see his concentration levels???) and fully deserved the win.

That said, there were instances where Lomachenko was clearly the better fighter and the rounds he won he won them convincingly.

What I do hate though is the people revelling in Loma's loss here; as though they were some mystic savants who "always knew Lomachenko was overrated" and his loss was a matter of time. The fact is that it took a much bigger opponent in the prime of his life to stop Lomachenko's momentum.

Right so if I can find you citing an injury as a reason for a particular performance of a given fighter then you're going to tell me that both you & he were making 'excuses' for that performance then aren't you? Or is it just Lomachenko you can't allow picking up injury?

If Lopez lost and claimed he had an injury leading into the fight and needed post fight surgery would any of you Loma fans buy that?
