I think it’s a nothing story, the majority of elite sports people/athletes compete with some level of injury and often surgery is an option rather than a requirement, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t need surgery it means that they had options, loma opted to have surgery at a later date.
It happens in football all the time players regularly play through injury and opt to have surgery at the end of the season, no professional sports man would ignore the medical advice and risk his performance and potential damage to complete if they and their medical team didn’t believe it was safe to do so.
I don’t doubt that he had a shoulder injury but he chose to complete and he thought he could still get the win, in preparation and training for the bout he made the decision believing he would win.
I don’t have any sympathy for any one who competes with injuries that is part of being a professional sportsman.

Lopez isn't anything special. He's good not great. Also a natural 140+ fighter. Loma is that good. Natural 126 guy with one bad shoulder and I thought he did great.
Excuses are valid in this case.
Loma was also way bigger than Rigo.

 

All fighters fight hurt. It’s the game. 100% injury sport. No doubt he had surgery. But he fought the fight and lost. No excuses.

Might Lomo again to have belts? Why not?
1. Lopez most likely will move up in weight class pretty soon. The same vigour as Loma had, collect belts.
2. Lomo then can remain at 135 and attempt to collect belts.
3. If Lomo will go down to 130.........I do not see why he can't collect belts there? Ofc he is capable to do this, for 135 he already looked too small. Especially vs Campbell he looked small, I mean espeacially reach.......

 

At the end of the day, the fight still happened. If it was that much of an issue then he shouldn’t have fought. It can’t have been that bad if he could suddenly throw it after 6 rounds.
