I forgot about Inkin pulling out of earlier arrangements. Andrade, Miranda, Bika, all good choices. Bika has the IBO title now, so maybe they could hype that into a "unification" fight. Froch/Bika sounds interesting to me, and the fight itself might generate the kind of action that wins fans and creates a lot of buzz.
They said on the HBO show last night that taylor supports more people than any active fighter. Apparently he has 4 kids and supports his entire extended family.
He fought Hopkins X2 Fought Winky Wright, and offered Winky a rematch Fought Pavlik X2 And he's gonna duck Carl Froch, a little known regional star with mediocre offensive skills and ZERO defenseatsch Just shut the **** up:vonnecunt
Yeah. He SAID he took time off and came back with a love for boxing, but.... He insisted in fighting Lacy instead of for the vacant belt.... Is it a question that even if he is "back" he was never really here? Or is he just low keyed? I really got to like him as a person after the second Pavlik fight.
Good question. I seem to remember the WBC not being very happy he didn't fight for the belt this time around. I think they like his sense of 'purse'. But, as long as they think he will bring them money in the future, they may not be too hard on him.
It is about PAYDAY for Taylor. He showed that when he declined the title shot for more money against Lacy. Which would you rather have? An extra million or the belt? I'm tiring of the belts crap myself. They already stood in the way of a Pavlik/Abraham date.
Froch hasn't done anything to merit a fight with Taylor. Even with the WBC title, he did what? Beat Pascal -- ya that's real impressiveatsch Froch's best move at this point, assuming he beats Pascal, would be to defend against Bika or Andrade on HBO or Showtime. That would get his name out there and create some buzz. If he won, he would possibly have a legitimate claim to a Taylor fight. Right now he's just some british pug that few people know or care about.
Ok, so we'll gloss over the fact that what is happening is exactly what I said would happen - Taylor wouldn't take the fight if Froch won the title, absolutely wouldn't risk going to the UK and would cite there 'not being enough money in the fight' as the reason - and that you and other posters kept telling me I was wrong. Answer me this: if Froch beating Pascal won't make him a legitimate opponent for Taylor, what the hell would Pascal have done (including beating Froch) that would make him a legitimate opponent if he should win. Or do you disagree with Dibella on this? Will you criticise Taylor if that happens. If Froch wouldn't merit a fight with Taylor as an unbeaten title holder, who would? The likes of Inkin, Dirrell, Green, Ward, Andrade clearly have lesser claims. I think most would agree Kessler and Bute would be more proven opponents. But if Taylor can't fight Kessler or Bute, what other fighters at SMW would 'merit' a fight with Taylor more than Froch?
