....and the referee? Rules are rules, the low blow was low, the fans were booing, this should have been a disq., no matter who the fake winner was. The opponent who was stopped by a low blow was no good, zero skills, but that does not matter, it was a clear low blow and Teddy Atlas saying that a low blow does not hurt? I have been hit low and it can hurt. Let someone hit Atlas low, and yes, it hurts with a cup on, an expensive cup, there is no excuse for what Atlas said. Atlas will never surprise me with anything! The low blow was over looked by the referee, what a disgrace! It was bad enough that the fans were cheated out of a real fight by allowing an opponent without any skills who should have never been allowed within a ring, but on TV?!
I agree. Just because it was a **** fight and an overmatched opponent doesn't mean that the rules don't apply. I'm over watching babied prospects protect their '0' against asswipes, though. I wouldn't have tuned in had I had anything remotely better to do tonight.
Friday Night Fights on ESPN2. Andre Dirrell's brother Anthony was fighting some overmatched guy who took the fight on short notice, and had to lose fifty pounds in three days or whatever the hell it was. Shockingly, it was a **** fight.
Every time there's a fight, Teddy Atlas further perpetuates the notion that he is infact a complete ****ing ******
Yeah, I'm glad others are upset about this. I thought this was outrageous. It wasn't even a debatable call, it was a blatant low blow. And Atlas is going on about how it's okay because he wears a ****ing protective cup!!! WTF!!!!atsch
a disqualification on the first lowblow? WTF are you, an extremist? (yeah...) The ref was at a bad angle to determine whether the blow was low or not, and gave the benefit of the call to the fighter who was on the verge of the KO. IF he did call a lowblow (though he didnt visually see it) and it was a bad call, the fighter who was on the verge of getting KO'd could get up to 5minutes of recovery time. The fighter would have lost all offensive momentum against his opponent premised on a "possible" lowblow. Considering that the ref probably didnt see where the contact was, that the opponent was getting raped, that there are times where fighters feign a lowblow to buy themselves time. The ref didnt give the fighter the benefit of the doubt. On the flipside of this, what fighter intentionally does a lowblow when he's got his opponent on the verge of getting KO'd? Im sure the ref calculated this also. Farmboxer, quit watching boxing with your ***** - use your head. Keepin' it real.....
yeah, it was OK because it was right on the cup ..... atsch Can you imagine the hate mail Teddy must get weekly? I bet ESPN has wanted to axe him for years but everyone is afraid to do it because they're probably gonna get KO'ed and/or shot.
Teddys been gettin some good predictions in lately. He was spot in that Judah would have to fight a more offensive effort than hes comfortable with to win and that Kahns right hand would land well and he would prevail.
LOW BLOW = BELOW THE BELT Low blow =/= On the belt The replays showing the best angles of the punch showed it was a beltline shot, not below the belt at all.
