It's not a matter of jumping two weight classes, first of all.

Pac at lightweight is already at or past his peak weight; and is at or past the peak of his abilities.

And really just jumping up two weight classes from lightweight he's only meeting DLH halfway; Oscar hasn't been a welterweight in eight years. :yep

This fight is so ****ing stupid. :-(

When Jones was a baby he probably only weighed 8pounds. Steve Forbes was actually less than 2 pounds.

    j/k

Pac's just too small for welterweight. He is 140 tops, and that's probably pushing it.

Pac was a pro before he hit puberty, had oscar turned pro at 15, he would have debuted at 115 -118, not all that different, however Oscar is the naturally bigger man today and as I stated before he holds the advantage in practically every aspect of the matchup aside from stamina. Oscar KO :thumbsup

You've gotta be a mentally slow not to see what the **** is clearly wrong with this fight...all the above mentioned doesnt NEARLY have the gravity that this mis-match has

RJJ gradually made his way to that weight...its not like he jumped from MW to HW...he moved up in weight and wasn't as short either...
RJJ is 5'11 closer to 6'0 and Ruiz is 6'2 that's 2 inches (or 3)...not that bad...this i would say comes close to the circus act...but Pac IS NOT RJJ!

Mosley was on steroids for the second fight (was only at 154 not a HUGE jump from 146)...the first fight was at his prime weight class...Oscar's 5'11 and Shane's 5'9...NOT A MISMATCH!

Mayorga fighting at 160 was nothing new...he had a couple of fights at 154 and close to 160...so again ITS NOT A HUGE WEIGHT JUMP...
Mayorga is 5'9 and Trinidad is 5'11 close to 6'0...again...NOT A MISMATCH!

The same Tarver coming off his UD as Mason Dixon?? Hopkins is 6'1 and Tarver is 6'2...cant make an argument there...The weight jump was pretty big and Hopkins DID have to have Macky for that one...but it's a weight that he's familiar with...and Tarver was ring rusted and not TREMENDOUSLY tall

so all in all...your attempt to make this not look like a mismatch is horse****...

Pacquiao has NEVER came CLOSE to fighting at 147...he BARELY made his debut at 135...

Not only is he jumping 12 lbs, but is making another debut at a weight class he CLEARLY has no business being in...

Oscar is ****ing 5'11 (5'10 1/2 if you wanna be technical)...
Manny is 5'6...FIVE ****ING SIX!...that's the height of most 6th graders man...are you kidding me with that ****!

Not only is he jumping too many divisions too high...but he has to SOMEHOW overcome the ****in' height AND REACH advantage...

Again...you have to be ****in' stupid not to see the fallacy in this fight

I think Pac has graduated past that label.

Moot point, it could be Juan Manuel Marquez we were talking about here and all his skill wouldn't mean bupkiss against a guy who'll look like Zangief next to him.

You have to be new to boxing to not know these type of fights are not new to boxing.

Gradually?! His fight before Ruiz he came in weighing 174, the fight before that 172, his fight against the 226 pound Ruiz he came in at 193...That is NOT gradually! :verysad

John Ruiz is 3 inches taller than Jones, Oscar is 4 inches taller than Pacquiao.

Ruiz outweighes Jones by 29 pounds!

Oscar will come in at 147, Pacquiao will come in at 147. Pacquiao usually weighs in at 146 fight night for his S.Featherweight fights anyway.

Roy was not even the P4P king like Pacquiao is right now.

Mosley jumped from 135 to 147 to fight Oscar De La Hoya in his FIRST fight at Welter Weight.

Mayorga went from 147 to 160 within a year. Nuff said. And you mentioning height as an excuse to call it a mismatch makes you look ignorant, because Tyson, Quintana, Mayweather, Hagler, and many more have fought and beat guys who were considerably taller than them.

Oh you have an excuse for everthing, as lame as it may be. Are you insinuating that had Tarver not came out on Balboa Hopkins would have fallen to him????

You are aware that ODLH is past is prime, is a part time boxer, and is busier than Tarver was when he fought Hopkins right?:-(

The hell your talking about here?

Pacquiao has fought very close to 147 many times. Maybe it's because you're new to boxing, but incase you didn't know, PAc has weighed in on fight night between 145-146 on more than one occassion...ooh, a pound shy of Welter weight! Wow!

Well, I agree. But I also thought Jones had no business at HW, and I also thought Mosley would get KO by DLH in 2000.

Let's get technical with Pac too...He is actually 5' 6 1/2", 4 inches shorter than ODLH. How many inches shorter was Carlos Quintana when he punished the Punisher? Oh...

Like no one has ever done that before. Carlos Quintana most recently.

People are just hating on this fight...No one said jack squat when Jack Dempsey fought Jess Willard who was WAY taller and bigger, and guess what??!! The much shorter, much lighter man won by insane KO!!
