When they started sparring, Dirrell had been in the gym for longer than Groves and he admitted Groves won the early sparring sessions. If anyone would have had an advantage, it would be Dirrell who, although he hadn't fought for a while, he had still been sparring himself and keeping fit. Groves hadn't.

Aside from that, Groves is stylistically easier for Dirrell than Groves is. That would likely be turned into a boxing match which Dirrell wins. However, do you think Dirrell is more technically skilled than DeGale? I don't see it. DeGale has a lot to learn, absolutely, but he has better fundamental skills than Dirrell.

As for Cleverly, he's done everything expected of him. He's a world champion, undefeated and was blatantly ducked by a long time champion. You can't fault him for not putting a foot wrong. I think he has too much heart for Dawson and would beat him.

we are talking about prospects here, even clev who is world champ but in his early twentys. De Gale and Groves are still green with only a few fights between them yet are shining already and given time will be banging with the top tier. Typical Yank, i'm gonna love it when Ward gets his ass handed to him( hype job ), you must get why the rest of the world hate you lot!!! Special mention goes to B hop now his a great fighter regardless of passports!

What the hell are you talking about. DeGale was coming forward against Groves. He just has no head movement and overrated speed. He simply got outboxed. Tired of you ******s questioning fighters hearts all the time. Like you morons ever been in the ring. Watch too many goddamn Gatti fights.

He's a world champion because the belt was handed to him in a phone call, he's undefeated because he hasn't fought at the highest level, and he got sparked by the featherfisted and nowhere near the top Kuziemski. Dawson embarrasses him.

Degale has no head movement. And was getting outboxed by the supposedly less skilled fighter. He was getting peppered with jabs and one two's. He had no idea how to cut off the ring and when he did get inside all he did was flurry with no real purpose. This kid has massive holes in his game that he cant hide because he's not even an exceptional talent. Brits made him sound like Roy Jones Jr. He wont even be Camacho Jr.

:lol::lol: Dawson would box the ears off this fool. He's not a world champion, he holds a gifted paper belt. He has not beaten anyreal champions yet.

Dirrell also implied that his promoter is secretly a doctor who found definite evidence in his sleeping pattern that he'd get his ass kicked by Andre Ward so it's better to pull out. Do we believe a Dr. Shaw Hi patient?

Ambitions of a British boxer maybe. Winning a paper belt that nobody cares about.

Brits seem to throw around the term "world class" and "Champion" alot without really knowing what it means it seems. :think

Btw, Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward were basically the same age when they got thrown to the wolves in the Super Six and shocked the world. DeGale, Cleverly and Groves are nowhere near that level. ANd may never be.

He looked far worse than he usually does because Groves made DeGale be the aggressor. Groves was the one supposed to come forward, he's always a come forward fighter and DeGale is a counter puncher. When you force a counter puncher to be aggressive, you are going to make them fight well outside their comfort zone and that's what happened.

Judging DeGale, a counter puncher, on a fight where he is the aggressor is insane. It's totally pointless and it doesn't tell you anything about his strengths and weaknesses.

As a counter puncher, he's more technically skilled than Dirrell is.
Because he was ducked. Dawson is far too easy to hit and has, in all honesty, very little heart. Once Cleverly starts tagging him and laughing at what is coming back, Dawson's heart will be tested again and will he handle it? I don't think so.
