Abraham has looked weird in two fights now. Both Dirrell and Froch were able to control his punch output by just keeping busy. But there is more to it than that. Abraham made a career with the style he has at 160 where opponents are usually smaller. Thus, he can use the shell defense to absorb nearly all the damage on his arms. The problem doing this against Froch and Dirrell is that they are super middleweights. They hit harder. If you shell up for too long the hurt starts coming in and psychologically makes you shell up more. This is why Clottey was absent against Pacquiao. Too many hard shots absorbed on the guard will wear you out fast. Things needless to say don't look good for Abraham against Ward. Ward will do exactly the same thing and win exactly the same way. Abraham will not change and if he does plan on retiring from the super 6 he needs to move back to 160. He has no future at 168.
