    Hopkins was not always a hold and hit fighter. The reason he fights like that now is b/c he is old. The reason he took the 5 minutes is b/c he is old. It is time to hang them up. Bhop could not keep up the pace for the 12 rounds, if he could he would of won easily like he did earlier in the fight.

    it just cracks me up how sensative you guys are being about this... lol... and im not trying to be antagonizing, it seriously humors me. I mean god i could understand if he did something really ****ed up to joe or something, like judah did to mayweather... then id be right with you guys, but your off the deep end.

    Ya... hopkins is a ***** because he milked some time off a low blow

    Like it is the first time in the history of fights. They are nothing but biased calzaghe sack chasers. He got dropped and outboxed by Bhop early on when Bhop had the energy. When bhop got a break off of the low blows he got up and won the round just like the first few. He is just an old fighter fighting a guy with a crazy pace. Bhop couldnt slow it down. End of story.

    well when you think about it, imagine cortez DQ calzaghe, or take away a point,is it fair??? trying to cheat after talking all that **** prior to the fight,"I'm a throwback fighter, I'm the last of the mohican" and then trying to win by cheating, disgraceful:-( :-( :-(

    Well I can't. lol. HBO coverage just showed the angle from behind the corner. Never showed a replay of it from in front, so nobody but Bernard knows. I don't really give a **** either way to be honest, just find it amusing how much fun is being made of Bernard for not having cast iron genitals.:lol:

    That moment took up like 10% of the fight.... out of all we can talk about in that fight, were talking about hopkins tried to win by cheating? hardly....

    We all know or at least it seems the punch was weak as hell, but it DID go low and he IS allowed 5 minutes... and thats what he was doing, was trying to get his time, his wind, and his legs back.


    ya it was cheap, oh hell ya. but im not going to sit here and do all these 'what ifs' and get myself worked up over it... because i knew a DQ NOR a deduction was coming... i saw it for exactly what it was, and i knew cortez wasnt gonna do anything, which was evident the next time hopkins tried to get a breather and he made hopkins fight.

    i dont know... maybe people need to cool off a little bit or something, i just dont see why its being so worked up.

    its overshadowing a great event... and this issue just added to the drama.

    he was trying to get cortez to take a point from calzaghe,then he tried again and threw himself on the floor,cortez noticed he was faking and told hopkins to go on,if that's not cheating I don't know what it is.

    He didn't cheat at all. The ref said he could take 5 minutes and he did.

    A lot of us just think that he was faking how hurt he was (if he was even hurt at all). It's not a particularly classy tactic.

    I enjoyed it too. Both were being rough as hell even during the clinches and stuff. It was a pretty damn good fight.:yep
