yes but tbf to khan he does take alot of 50-50 fights which personally i respect however he cant expect to sell out arenas in the uk anymore as most of his fights have been at 4am and on primetime so interest in him is dwindling.

as soon as i read that amir's saying this could be his last fight in the uk, i thought to myself, the tickets are not selling.
i'll always watch amir fight, but ive no interest in what comes out of his mouth, he says some really ignorant and spupid things, which lets him down badly.

There's nothing in that article that deserves any **** being slung his way.

However, if his career trajectory continues on the downward spiral, he may find himself fighting in the UK a lot more often than he planned. He's about two losses detached from headlining the Bolton Leisure Centre.

i dont like khan but didnt see anything wrong with what he said, ticket sales might be slow and thats why he is saying it could be his last fight in the UK as he shifts tickets in USA a lot quicker

cant blame the man for trying to earn a good living

That says it all about as well as it can be said. :good

Can't see OP's problem really, even with the "story" as published.

Khan has mentioned it may be his last fight in UK? I'm sure he's said similar before and will do again, it's a ticket selling device and nothing more.

No different to stating that he wanted to bring this fight to the UK for his fans, more like the US networks/venues weren't overly interested and more money/interest could me made here.

Nowt wrong with it, fight where you can make the most money, it could all be over tomorrow. Boxers owe the fans nothing, fans owe boxers nothing, it's a business. If your product isn't good enough people won't buy.

The man's hyping his fights to maximise revenue, fair play to him.

Other boxers have done far worse in the guise of promotion and catch a lot less ****.

Does he? They had to give LOTS of tickets away for his last fight

  9. hold on.. froch chats **** to hype fight and sell tickets - its ok as nothing wrong with boxer trying to make some $$$$
khan does it - and he gets shitted on

I never understand the double standards on this site

I aint got no problem with a fighter hyping a fight as long as he does not go oTT

It is a sales pitch , it's one if I've ever heard one. As for the previous point about editing stuff out I appriciate it ,I just find this particular line a strang one to trot out unless your trying to generate a bit of interest .

Reeks if desperation a bit!But no doubt you will disagree !

Threat? The heck you talking about? Not sure about a racist or a bald ****, but you sure is a stupid one .

Fighters say stuff like this all the time..."This could be my last fight ever"..."I'll retire if I lose, that's how much it means to me". Haye, Hatton, Froch, etc, they've all said it. Did you consider their words as threats, too? At least Khan's just stating something that's close to the truth. After Diaz, he'll be heading back to the States and won't return to the UK for a long time.

It's the ridiculously high prices he's set, that's the probably the cause.

Mind you, if he gets 10,000 bums on seats with those extortionate prices, he'd have done well. What are they, like, twice as much as what Brook and Froch were charging? Ridiculous.

Exactly. Brook was mentioning and laughing at Khan's ticket sales, but taking into consideration that Brook's tickets were sold for peanuts (£20) and actually, a lot of them were given away in comps and other methods.
