You aren't going to convince anyone that Loma was ducking tank.

He could have been the Dana white of boxing
He had ALL the fighters under one banner
We were getting better fights before it all fell apart into a fragmented mess 3 way split between Top Rank, PBC & Golden boy…. Sad

Ryan reacted to the body shot the same way Beefy did when Canelo hit him. He was in genuine pain and had a delayed reaction, it happens. Whether he could have continued or not, only Ryan knows, but he probably becomes a sitting duck since his legs were jelly. If he was going to just quit he would have stayed down after the first knockdown, but that's just my 2 cents. There's an awful lot of keyboard warriors who have never even sparred (let alone fought) criticizing him.

Who gives a damn about an undefeated record. Ali, Robinson, Duran, and Chavez himself had multiple losses. Chavez also quit so I'm not sure if he has any room to talk lol.

Um, Haymon doesn't coddle fighters he often has them step up in a reasonable time frame against increasingly harder competition. Arum doesn't either and can be quite harsh. Not sure what sport you're been watching.

No one is saying Oscar was supposed to be his best buddy, but dipping out as soon as he loses just looks bad even if you look at it purely from a business point of view. If this is some passive aggressive attempt to "teach him a lesson for not listening" by having him address his loss on his own, it's not a very effective method. If anything, there's a good chance he'll become more hard headed or attempt to leave Golden Boy and they'll be left with an empty stable. As I mentioned before, it also hurts their chances of signing new young prospects if they see how quick Oscar and Bernard are to abandon their fighters. Besides, we KNOW that their excuses for leaving were LIES. Who wants to work for coke head liars that abandon you when you need them???

I'm not going to bother. Loma is treated like a deity who descended from the clouds.

Tank's daddy Floyd threatened to put Twink in with Lomachenko. Twink was whining about it.

Gervonta "Regular" Davis is the one being gassed up after one fight.

Loma was gassed up after less than 10 fights and called the #1 p4p fighter over Crawford and Ward.

I agree that he may have been right to stay down, but the story of him quitting is already circulating amongst fans and that can't be stopped. Unfortunately, that's just the nature of how these things go. Chavez isn't that relevant to boxing anymore, but he is still a notable figure in his community and his words do matter to the extent they influence media. Ryan will from now on be under a microscope when it comes to his behavior in the ring. If he ever is stopped in a similar fashion (i.e., doesn't get up), justified or not, people will say "look there is him quitting again".

Reasonable time with increasing opposition is what Oscar was trying to do. Again, pretty much all experts picked Davis to win because it was agreed Ryan is inexperienced, still too flawed, had to deal with catchweight, etc...I can't think of any major up and coming fighter from Haymon or Top Rank ever being put in the same position as Ryan got himself into. And GB knew this and tried to convince Ryan not to do it, but he just didn't listen and almost certainly threatened to leave if they didn't make the fight.

Your right about the bad look for Golden Boy, but this entire fight was a bad look for them. The entire promotion was a lie. They never wanted it. They promoted and acted like they believed in Ryan up until the fight because that their job, but once it was over what is one more lie worth? Goosen was acting like Ryan was great when deep down it seems the rumors were true that Ryan basically trains himself (as Canelo said), but Goosen was obviously not gonna mention that to the media.

The fight did good numbers, but the future for GB and Ryan is now broken. No major fighter at 140lb is gonna fear Ryan. He's vulnerable now and experts agree he's gonna need time (aka years) of taking step up fights to see if he actually can improve his game. In the meantime, GB (if they stay the promoter) are gonna have to keep handing out paychecks for Ryan to face mediocre opponents. Unless he's idiotic enough to go straight for a 140lb killer and get KO'd again.
