So Pacquiao Algieri was fine, but Khan Algieri is a disgraceful cherrypick?

Everyone knows Pac takes every fight that's why he doesn't receive much criticism when he takes a breather against an "undefeated, major belt owner" prospect at the age of 36. If Khan, at 28 years old/prime, fought any of the 3 opponents Pac fought before the Algieri fight(Tim, Rios, JMM) he wouldn't receive the kind of criticism he's receiving now. Moreover he's chiefly criticized for ducking Brook who was calling him out all this time. I never liked Khan's boxing and always believed he's hyped, but I'd respect him if he took a big fight, win or lose. With the Algieri choice, he just reinforced my opinion.

It just shows how hypocritical the boxing community is, if he's good enough for one of the most decorated fighter of this generation and who by most boxing fans occupies the second spot on most pound for pound lists. I fail to see how he isn't good enough for Khan, who's labelled as a 'nobody', 'bum' and 'glass chin' literally every other day.

The reaction was a lot more subdued when Pacquaio had chosen Chris.

Every interview with Khan he says he looking at the big fights, many and Mayweather are name dropped every time.
These fights may not happen for well over a year so the next best thing should be on his mind, not a guy coming off a loss.

    starting to really dislike him

I mean he was also still undefeated and coming off a win over the heavily favored Provodnikov

We saw Algieri look like a novice vs a fast skilled boxer

I think most expect the same result if not worse

Obvious first time round, this time will be far worse though. People were even picking him against Khan before Pacqauio he really doesnt have a hope, no way it goes the distance

This just screams the malinaggi fight over

I just want to see Khan beat one of the several undefeated or top young welters that exist rather than just beg for a Floyd fight like a pan handler looking for beer money

Beat Brook? Beat Thurman? Earn the fight

Algeiri wont be as competive as Malinaggi. If Khan beats Kell and Thurman he'd probably have one of the best resumes for a fighter Floyd ever fought, you dont need much for a Floyd fight.

well, when pacquiao decided to face Algieri, Chris was undefeated and whilst most believed Pac would be too good, there was a bit of an unknown. Then, after fight, it was confirmed that Pac was too good. Was it a cherry pick? it was, to a degree. Pac could've chosen Thurman, Khan, Canelo or others but opted for Algieri.

But khan's pick is worst. Why? Cause we got confirmation of how Chris matches up against the elite, he got owned by Pac. So whilst there was some level of uncertainty when Pac chose him, now we know where Chris skills are relative to the elite. Khan is picking a guy that didn't win 1 round and got knocked down by Pacquiao yet Khan keeps saying he can beat Pac and Floyd? This is a real real cherry pick.

Khan could've gone for Broner, Cotto, Brook, Thurman instead of a fighter that we all saw cannot hold his own vs the elite

having said this, Algieri will be more prepared for this fight and be less fearful of Khan so it could b interesting. Experience is important and chris has little before facing Pac. He also was scared of Pac's power. He will fight Khan more and he has some skills... I would love to see Chris KO Khan, it would be the end of amir.

Khan has chose Algieri because he is ducking Brook, simple as that.

What kind of a thread is this? The reason Khan vs Algieri is a disgrace fight because we all see how chris fights vs tough and top fighters like prov who is tough and pacquiao whos a top elite fighter. <<Chris got more well known and exposed but thanks to that, nobody and i mean nobody except dumb khan himself want to see khan vs chris. And honestly? Chris got a gift win over Prov.

That's BS. Pacquiao was burned at the stake when it was announced. He was criticized a crazy amount until the day of the fight. And this was proven by the low PPV numbers because nobody wanted it.

That "fast skilled boxer" just so happens to be Pacquaio, though. Prior to his fight against Kamegai, Guerrero was on the receiving end of a pretty comprehensive loss to Floyd. When Keith was scheduled to face him there was very little opposition to that fight despite Guerrero best win at the weight being Berto. That didnt stop Thurman from receiving, and rightfully so, getting praise for his win over Guerrero.

Algieri has just recently come on the scene, he hasnt had much time to establish himself like Guerrero, and is only one fight removed from a great win over Ruslan. At the time, he wasnt given even a remote chance at upsetting the applecart. Algieri only loss has come at the hands of Pacquaio. I think it's a decent fight for both, Khan, just so happens to be a polarising figure in boxing so whatever path he takes will bring his detractors out.
