You may be right Price was hyped pre-Thompson, but Wach is some sacred name in this forum's HW threads and I find that absurd.
Wach is practically retired since the Wlad fight as well. The kind of opposition Wach and Briggs fight since their defeat against Klitschko's is more or less the same; absolute bums. You know it's funny, they could be perfect opponents for each other, Briggs and Wach, if it could ever happen.
If you ask me of all the fights Price could take, that might actually be the worst choice possible. Wach doesn't go away whatever you hit him with and although slow, there comes a time in the fight where he will have succes... Price won't survive. There are some other bad matchups for Price, but those are more relevant fighters. Wach would likely set him back so far that he won't come back from it.
He's not an elite level HW, nobody's saying that... But he's definitely fringe world level, and definitely has what it takes to beat some recognizable names. Is he top 10? definitely not. Top 15? Nah.... But he's still someone we should be keeping an eye on. Beating Price would definitely put him back on the map, lots of big fights would be coming his way if he were able to pull that one off... If I were Price/his management i'd stay away from this one. They have nothing to gain here, and everything to lose. Wach on the other hand has nothing to lose and a real shot at winning.
Well he only has one loss to Wlad, KO'd Hammer far more impressively than Fury recently, he has an amazing chin and decent KO power. As opposed to Price who couldn't KO Costa Beato Junior Irineu as quickly as Parker and got exposed not ionce ut twice by Tony Thompson. Wach will stop Price.
Yeah ok for the first part, although I think it's a good fight for Price. I think he can win this one and he will be back on track with his career, close to where he was Pre-Thompson. He can't get there by keep fighting bums. He needs this kind of a win since he doesn't have much time left at nearly 32 years old.
Wach is painfully slow and sort of on the robotic side but he is physically tough and his fundamental boxing skills aren't bad at all. I think Price could possibly beat him with speed and mobility. :thinkBut it's still possible for Wach to KO Price :dead
Helenius before his career got derailed with management issues is no Wach. He has a better resume than Wilder too. As for this fight Price can win if he can stay calm and box. If he panics when things get rough he'll has out and get knocked out. But he is a level above Wach in skill.
How is Wach still allowed to box? He not only failed drug tests, he tried to tamper with gloves, he's the ultimate disgrace to the sport.
This is a winnable fight for Price, dangerous because of Wach's power but he should be able to win a decision. Price lacks a good jab so can be pressured but Wach likes to fight from range as well and is very slow. So I think Price plays it safe and boxes sensibly to a points win.
