No, AJ's chin is just that bad. Combined with Ruiz's handspeed, the unpredictable angles, and inadequate ability to brace for impact for shots he couldn't see and didn't know was coming. His goose was cooked.

For what its worth, he didn't hurt Dimitrenko all that much, and he certainly didn't have him doing the stanky leg every time he grazed him.. AJ's chin is just as fragile as a Faberge egg.with several hairline fractures.

He made Dimitrenko quit on his stool who stood 6'7 260lbs.

He caught him cold bit like Wlad did but Ruiz had more in the tank to take advantage of it..

I don;t think he is a big puncher but at his weight his punches will hurt.. It's his speed that will trouble most...

Yes, but he was hitting him flush, and didn't put him down or make him do any funny boogie woogie dances. Dimitrenko has no heart, so the stopping on the stool isn't some great statement, he basically pulled a quit job against Parker and Pulev as well.

Dimitrenko was not dumb enough to trade in the pocket with Ruiz.

Yes, and Andy was still tagging him plenty enough and he reacted a lot better than AJ did.

WTF, give him his due. He backed a bigass guy up, made him quit on his stool. Then a month and a half later he beats on the #1 Heavy in the world and makes his ass quit too. :duh

I am giving him due, he beat AJ's ass from pillar to post, he won almost every second of the fight, he deserves full credit for the win, he performed beautifully, just like I thought he would. I'm not discrediting anything about is performance. I'm just stating that AJ DOES NOT have a great chin, and that Andy is not a huge puncher, and that Andy's chin, balls and skillset which allowed him to land on AJ as frequently as he did is what got him the win. What's the issue here?

No, I don‘t think he is a puncher and he probably won‘t destroy an opponent so easily ever again.

It was Joshua’s terrible ring iq and inability to take a punch without hyperventilating which caused this bizarre beatdown and not Ruiz‘ power.

It came across like a fluke. I agree he's not a huge puncher but he does have power! Nobody really goes toe to toe with Ruiz because he's so fast and accurate and he always retaliates when he gets popped himself. All he does is back guys up, Parker, Dimitrenko, Joshua and I'd bet anyone else who gets in the ring.

He did? He looked so wobbly to me. But if he said it, I can't dispute it.

in between sets of knock downs, aj was landing some crisp hard shots.
it appears that the extra weight helps andys power. it gives him a heavier base from which to generate torque. my advise would be to do heavy resistance training to his legs, cross trained with explosiveness exercises and endurance training. trade the belly fat for tua like legs that will add explosiveness and mobility. he keeps the weight he wants for a base, but now he can move it around much quicker.
