Estrada looks sloppy. No accuracy. No power. This complete unknown is taking him deep. He may get stopped...
Its genuinely heartbreaking to me seeing fighters get ruined... seeing how one fight took so much from them. Sad.
Estrada looked like ass Vs Alvarez, may have been more a case of over-looking an opponent than being ruined
I didn't watch the fight. Did Estrada really fall off that badly? I didn't think he took life changing damage from Rungivisai. Chocolatito on the other hand got completely ruined. I can't take paranoid android aka tomato can's word for it.
Just a stylistically trickier opponent than Gallo anticipated, he looked okay, not great, it happens.
This. Plus this was basically tune-up / stay busy, and while fighters' ego won't allow them to admit it, they don't train as hard and aren't as focused on smaller fights. JFGE will look much better in a superfight, and then we'll know how much Rungvisai took out of his prime.
Ah my bad I wasn't addressing this fight, but ruined fighters in general. I should have stated that in my post. Just understood the 'sadness' he was talking about witnessing a fighter looking shot.
Estrada ate numerous flush, fight-ending nuclear bombs from Rungvisai and flashed true granite. Against Orucuta, Estrada was bothered by shots that didn't look or sound anywhere close to the heavy artillery from Rungvisai. Estrada was missing and getting OUTBOXED for stretches. He lacked accuracy and he couldn't take out a guy that was stopped by Cayetano (37% KO rate). Estrada is a master boxer (Mexico's best, imo) with laser accuracy and serious pop in his shots (I think Rungvisai would have been stopped in another round or two). It should have been a wipe out. Maybe it was an off night, but what I saw got me very concerned about Estrada in a Rungvisai rematch.
You mean the same relentless Cayetano that just went 9 rounds with Scott Quigg and 10 rounds with Kid Galahad up at Featherweight that Orucuta faced up at Bantamweight, that one? You ever thought maybe its because Orucuta has no business taking on fairly large Bantamweights?
