I’ve always like Matthysse. This was a guy who, 7 years prior, was seen as this feared, devastating KO artist and the second coming to Julian Jackson at the time. He didn’t live up to his full potential and since his losses to Garcia and Postol he just wasn’t the same fighter anymore. He was really unfortunate to have been in the ring with another fighter who just happens to be an ATG legend with some fight left in him. It was pitiful to see him look helpless and not fight the same aggressive style he’s known for.
I hope Matthysse retires for good. He’s had a good career and will always remember him for his exciting style and good fights.

    Sorry for him.

Last week he claims that he will end Pac's career.
Right now it seems his is the one ending.

    Sorry. No hard feelings,
    THE Pacman RULES again.

I tuned in expecting a fight, this was pathetic. Did Lucas throw a punch with bad intentions?

Matthysse needs to retire, the fire has gone along time ago.

Sad as he was/is one of my favourite fighters and he looked and moved like he was about 70 last night.

Both fighters are past their primes so they both should retire. Lucas is not the same fighter as he once was. I agree with that.

I don't think Manny wins that helps Floyd. . Not when Floyd fought him late in Manny's career.

i dont feel bad for him.. he didn;t perform. I;d feel bad if he slugged it out and showed more willingness to engage but he didn;t so no sympathy here.

He said it was an honor to fight Pac. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He shouldn't take the fight. Deep down Mathysse had to find out if he was capable of fighting the elites. He was shell shocked that night how easily he got ripped apart from limb to limb. Just not at Pacquaio's level.

I don't know if that matters too much. He still fought him too late. Floyd still did not fight the 2009 or 2010 Manny, and that is the guy who was there and available to him. 2015 after he lost to Marquez? That affects a fighter mentally and physically and everything else. How valid was Hearns after he lost to Barkley with one punch or Duran after Hearns knocked him out. They won titles, but that was bonus. Those one punch knockouts are never easy to get over. The only person I saw really not get too affected by a one punch knockout was Terry Norris after Julian Jackson.
